How is it the government's fault?
The hip pocket has been affected by the governments failings in regard to cost of living pressures .

And spending hundreds of millions ( probably more ) on things like the voice , while the average family scrapes through .

By not continuing income offsets , and fuel subsidies are a couple of examples of how they could help ..

Greedy corporations are the bigger issue. Everything's blamed on inflation while they post record profits.

Sure, any reasonable person can expect fluctuations in prices due to these issues. When they only go in one direction though its about fleecing consumers.
Not disagreeing but that's not the whole picture, only part of it.

I find it more infuriating tbh that so many large corporations aren't taxed appropriately.

Not taxed appropriately by… the government?

Yep. Different issue to inflation though.

Feels like what you agree should happen could help combat (impacts of) inflation though

Tax big corps a tiny bit more
Give low middle income some more support
Cost of living issues less pressing, Sharks price increase affordable for more

Would help to some extent.

Bit of a double edged sword though, people spending more doesn't help inflation. Not something I'd like to have the responsibility for resolving.

Shrinkflation pisses me off more than inflation. Bought a can of pringles yesterday as they were 50% off. $5 full price, for a thinner can with chips that have become half the size.

This aside, does anyone have 2023 member prices? I have a terrible memory, but it feels like mine hasn't gone up that much.

Pringles are ****ing tiny now, couldn't believe it when I saw not long ago how small they'd gotten. Obviously hadn't had any in a while.

I used to work at Woolworths way back in the day and at one stage Smith's chips went up 10c a pack and down 10 grams at the same time.
Only good thing was it made the old sized pack a discontinued item so I stocked up very cheap. I've always been partial to a chip - they're all extortionately priced now supposedly because the war in Ukraine has hampered potato stocks? Look forward to price returning to normal once that ends.

I'd rather pay more than things shrinking, it is annoying.

I looked at the nutritional info of Pringles recently because my cholesterol reading was a tad on the high side. Fmd those things are full of saturated fat, like 3 to 4 times more than chips.

Hence why they taste good I guess

Surely everyone can downgrade to a Sharks Net rather than not renewing at all?

You won't have your seat and other perks, but you'll still be supporting the club and retaining your membership
For sure. I very rarely go to games as I just don’t like the game day experience (anywhere, not just at Shark park) but I’ve gotta support the club so always go with the Shark net. I’m not sure how much the membership numbers means to the NRL but I’d say it’s pretty obvious that the higher the better. Not sure why the Shark net price needs to rise as you’re not really getting anything from it other than knowing you’re supporting the club. It was only like $45 a few years ago and now it’s nearly $70
