Yeah, can be brilliant at times but loves a “jamming play” sometimes to our detriment (I think he jammed when he should have stayed on his man for their try’s)needs to learn to defend better
He was a bit to focused on the niggle rather than the game.Needs to keep his head in the game. He is way too easily rattled and at times riles up the opposition
The first one Iro jams in on Hunt leaving Ronnie to mark Sloan and Ravalawa. If he stays out hunt plays short to sloan. Can't blame him for this.needs to learn to defend better
I don't think it was the whole game though that he niggled. He was a bit to focused on the niggle rather than the game.
Ravalawa scored 2 on him, so honestly, Ravalawa took the points IMHO
First try maybe (need to watch that again), second one no way. They had them covered easily if they didn't jam in so tight / close togetherWhen you watch the replays of their trys. Ask yourself what you'd think if he stayed out and they scored inside him. He'd look 10 times worse in that situation IMO.
Wingers are taught to jam when they are beat for numbers, it's not an error. You could maybe argue he could have jammed faster to shut it down?
This is how I saw it.First try maybe (need to watch that again), second one no way. They had them covered easily if they didn't jam in so tight / close together
Yeah I had to watch again too. First one he's 100% left with two on one.First try maybe (need to watch that again), second one no way. They had them covered easily if they didn't jam in so tight / close together
I think I should've put that one on the all the cover, not just Ronnie - they were way too tight for what they had to cover though.Yeah I had to watch again too. First one he's 100% left with two on one.
Second, I said in my other comment that Sloan beats Iro on the outside. I think they may have covered him, but I don't think it's definitive enough to say Ronnie definitely should have stayed out. Remembering that he can't see Will coming across behind him.
With the benefit of hindsight, I think if he stays out Iro grabs him and Will does enough to wrap it up. But all Ronnie can see is a speedster getting around his centre, so I can't really blame him for making the decision he did.
The second one at least (IMO), if he doesn't jam in, Sloan strolls through. If you have to watch a replay to decide if he was right to jam or not it says a lot about how hard the split second decision making is.
(This is more of a genera response not specific to you and that comment)The second one at least (IMO), if he doesn't jam in, Sloan strolls through.
Not sure what happened on the first one, although it looked pretty bad.
Thanks for sharingI wish he'd waited a week to drop this video so he could include Ronnie's efforts in here. Great explainer on why wingers jam in.
It's kinda understandable as it does look bad on the winger. Problem is he's often left with an impossible task to clean up by his inside men and the last pass has to go by him. Thanks for sharing
I do find it frustrating people just auto blaming the wingers without understanding the game properly.
