Can't be getting caught on 4th this much against a good side.

I noticed he did it a lot late in the game when we had it won. Wouldn’t surprise me if he did it to give Atkinson some experience on last play options while under pressure.

Rather give Dan some pressure moments when we’re up 40-0 as opposed to 18-18 down in Melbroune.

I thought he did it across the game tbh.

The team started to find its rhythm and so has Hynes. He is becoming a true leader.

This whole year Hynes has loved kicking on the short side .. it must be a preference thing

We’ve been doing it since last year, I believe it’s a tactical decision by Fitzy.

A punt to the corner makes it significantly easier for us to set our defensive line, plus it means the first two tackles for the opposition are going to be sideways plays to get the ruck to the centre of the field.

Just stop and think, how many times have we see the opposition winger only make a meter or two because they need to crab across on their hit-up to get the ball centred field?

I guess if we are trying to pin to corner (which we absolutely are) kicking from shortside allows a straight kick, rather than crossfield with more risk of going long (out). Altering kick position to go higher accuracy kick.

Doesn't help when you kick on your offside low into someone's legs though.
