I would like to see the bays in the stand have names ie The Monty Porter Bay. Also we should get a NEW scoreboard and call it "The Steve Rogers Scoreboard"
I like that idea very much mate
I understand the sentimental reason the respect behind naming something after a legend but wouldn't the Club be better served to sell the name?
What is the average # of times the score is read out in a game? A replay watched? A video ref decision awaited?
It must get somewhere around 20 times a game x 11 home games per year x average crowd of 9000 (?) = almost 2 million 'hits' a season. At just 10c/hit that's almost $200k. Probably more realistic at 1c/hit but I'm sure $20k would be well recieved nonetheless.
How many people per game would buy a ticket to sit in a certain stand? 2000? That's potentially 220,000 ticket per year going out with 'Qantas Stand' (for example) branding on them. Any company worth their salt would be leveraging off that as they go. Could probably get 10c a ticket or something along those lines?
Sadly, what you say is true.
**** the southern stand. they need to make it even easier to get beers when you're on the hill, without having to have your back turned for too long.
i suggest one of those dudes lurking around with a tray thing full of VB yelling "VB's VB's Get yer VB's"
We need the booze and food blokes like the yanks have, going around delivering beers and hotdogs, hot chips, pies etc.
They have 'em at the GF, but they only sell ice creams and soft drinks which are useless to me.
I'd like to see the Club look in to this too. As far as I'm aware, all the food and drink contracts are outsourced, meaning that "food and booze blokes" are up to the retailers and not the Club. If the Club were to have total control over over the food and drink sales, they could offer this service and make some good coin. There are plenty of lazy f
uckers out there who would pay an extra dollar for their pie so they didn't have to get out of their seat.
Bear in mind though Caps, the Yank games have a lot of downtime, so these food dudes can make their way around without blocking fans' view of the game. League a little different.
Back to the naming of the stand. I'd like to see a name that is timeless. I've been thinking for a while on this, but haven't yet come up with a name that nails it. The best I can think of at the moment is 'The Great Southern Stand'.
I'd like to see a name that, over time, would become synonymous with the Sharks, and also develop a World wide attraction to it. IE Bondi, Opera House, Ayers Rock, Great Barrier Reef, Harbour Bridge etc
