It would be more fairer to compare it to Jose’s 15 mil contract considering United is, I think, still significantly richer then Liverpool. If Klopp was at United you can bet he would be earning much more then he’s on at Anfield.

You’ve got a point, but it still seems crazy! Why did Utd need to offer him so much? Like Snowman said, it’s not as if he was high in demand. He would’ve accepted much less.

Dunno why the rates are higher. Ask Ed, then tell him to **** off out of the football department and get back to the business side of the club where he belongs while your there thanks.

united are definitely richer than us, but they spunk money for fun

liverpool have structures on salaries

mo salah, mane and vvd are our top earners, vvd gets 180k a week

put into perspective, alexis sanches gets 500k a week, same as pogba

obviously as players get better, these structures will get shifted, but that will mean we are enduring success such as trophies, top 4 finishes and CL fights

That money also means United will be back in those fights when they finally get their **** together *ahem move Ed out of the football department*. When that will be? Who knows, how long did it take Liverpool to get their **** together when you were finishing mid table for a while? Not long I think. United will dig themselves out of it, they re too big not too. But a lot has to change there. Hopefully some very harsh lessons are learned while they do.

it took liverpool a decade to get it right

people forget we were close to administration in 2010 because of poor ownership and overspending

You know what I’d do if I was Ole? Next meeting I have with Ed I’d walk into the office wearing one of those “Hello! My name is...” badges saying “Hello! My name is Ole, I know more about football then you, so please buy who I want”.

its not as simple as buy who i want anymore now for united

say you want koulibaily - why would he go to united when juve or madrid or someone with CL football wants him?

liverpool had to change strategy - people laughed when we raided southampton - but the year we got back into the top 4, sadio mane was our best player

now more than ever for united it will be about scouting and the right fit, not 150 million on a player

Oh I’m well aware now that it’s going to be harder to sign guys like Kouilibaly. I think they know too as they’ve set their targets a bit lower if you believe the latest rumours. Ole’s looking at young English talent apparently and some guys from Portugal and France. I think everyone knows by now that they’re after Wan-Biska (forgive the spelling I didn’t have time to look it up) from Palace as a RB option. Apparently old mate big head Harry from Leicester has once again become a target, but he’ll cost more than he’s worth by the sounds of it.

Man City 6-0 fa cup final *yawn*

If it wasn’t for Liverpool’s incredible season, the PL would be like Ligue 1/Serie A.

A betting company in the UK has opened a market on who will be Manchester United’s director of football. Theresa May is on it at 500/1. Apparently a punter stuck a fiver on it and the company laughed and said **** it, we’ll pay out on that and gave the bloke two and a half grand! Thought that was pretty funny. For the record, Rachel Riley and Usain Bolt are on it too.
At the other end of the odds, Darren Fletcher is the favourite, followed by Edwin Van Der Sar (which is a bit weird considering he’s already turned them down) and Rio Ferdinand.

to have a director of football, you need someone who is savy, business smart, knows the market and understands football

whilst fletcher crosses a few of those boxes, he is very underwhelming

i urge you to read the articles on michael edwards and his role in liverpools turn around as to why hiring ex players isnt the way to go

I don’t disagree with you. I’m a bit worried about the ‘must be a former player of the club’ criteria they’ve set. Although Van Der Sar has done a great job at Ajax, if they could get him to change his mind it wouldn’t be the worst thing.

Whoever gets the DoF role at Utd (and that's assuming they actually appoint one) is and will forever be irrelevant unless (Dickh)Ed either leaves or keeps his clueless arse the F*k out of footballing matters.
