1. Gigot - 5/10: Gigot had a game he wouldn't mind forgetting. In the first half he did some good things, but did some very bad things also. Manly snagged a try through Tony taking an air swing when trying to knock the ball dead from a grubber, he also dropped a couple of easy passes. In the second half he came out with some good kick takes and passes but all that came to a halt when he forced his way through the line and when trying to step around the fullback he slipped and hurt himself, looked groggy for about 20mins. Scored a good try in the second half and caught down the Manly winger who made a break down the sideline (granted that break was from Gigot dropping the ball).
2. Tonumaipea - 4/10: Probably our second worst out there. Tonumaipea's a weird case, whenever he did something good he would ruin it by ****ing up soon after. For example, there was a moment when he kept barging his way through defenders from a dummy half scoot, made about 30 meters and then dropped the ball cold. Also dropped a couple of easy kicks, had some good runs though.
3. Mills - 6/10: Mills was solid without doing much. Made the tackles that he needed to make and took a couple of scoots. I gotta say that he isn't playing like a guy trying to force his way into firsts. You would think with Pomeroy playing **** he would lift his game, but nope. Played a very conservative game.
4. Wright - 6/10: See Mills.
5. Moroko - 7/10: 'The Rock' played well today. Made a couple of big hits and kept bashing his way forward with hitups. Scored a good try in the second half by just barging his way over the winger and fullback. Needs to work on his positional play in regards to taking kicks (so does Gigot).
6. Manumalealii - 3/10: Penani was our worst out there. The guy would just hog the ball and drop to the ground whenever the defense touched him. He was a passenger in defense also, forcing Mills and Sopoaga to cover him in defense quite a bit. His kicks (the few he did) were ineffective. When's Finch back?
7. Townsend - 9/10: Our best out there today, however, all you Robbo haterz don't get too excited. He was out best, but he wasn't very good... If that makes sense. In the first half he played very Robson like, he would be first receiver and he would just shovel the ball onto Manumalealii or Gigotand expect them to do something. So in the first half he didn't do anything creative and his kicks found the wingers and fullbacks quite a bit. In the second half he was better, he was half and half in the terms of being creative and shoveling the ball. He forced a goal line dropout and gave a nice ball to Gigot for his try. His goal kicking was pretty good too.
8. Robinson - 7/10: Played a good game. Had strong runs and was safe in defense. He and Taufua led the way, Coates didn't get much time on the field.
9. Politoni - 6/10: Solid without being spectacular. (This ends his 'fire' streak)
10. Taufua - 7/10: See Robinson
11. Auva’a - 8/10: One of our best out there. Made some brutal hits and he seemed to make a least 10 meters with every runs. Scored a try in the second half too. (I think it was off a Gigot grubber, may have been Townsend though).
12. Sopoaga - 7/10: Was alright. Made a couple of missed tackles and had some ineffective runs but wasn't too bad. He didn't do anything that made him stand out.
13. Peachey - 6/10: Don't get the 6/10 wrong, Peachey wasn't bad... He was just really quite. Which sounds stupid because he scored a 50 meters try, but other than that Peach really didn't do much. He (like Mills and Wright) wasn't playing like a guy trying to force his way into firsts. However, maybe he was resting himself perhaps... for later in the week.
14. Coates - 5/10: Didn't get much game time and when he was on he didn't do anything special.
15. ??? - ???/???
16. Green - 5/10: See Coates
17. ??? - 1/10: I dunno what the guys name was but the reason I'm giving him 1/10 is because the guy, literally, played one and a half minuets. I think it may have been his debut because he didn't look familiar.
