He’s better than Robson and Egan. Come at me, bro.

He's playing better than alot of his opposition 9's this season which is likely playing a part in our W/L record in 2024

Levi was already garbage but Robson, Starling, Meaney ect have regressed while Blayke has finally begun to step up to the mantle

Blayke is outclassing them now

API & Egan are fantastic players though so hard to say if Blayke is at that level yet but heading in right direction. But they have some years on Brails and I would also say kinda a different style to Blayke who is less about scheming and more about doing everything from the ruck quick to get forwards momentum or quick spread to our backline.

But he is picking some good moments to scoot and still has some trick shots and deception in his kit bag.

Anyone who remembers Blayke from his NSW Cup days knows he has always had some ability but it's like the shackles have finally started to come off in his first grade career.

Feel like this could be a controversial take in here, but I don't think he's really changed his game much this year.

Blayke commented that he'd gone harder with his fitness, and I think that shows as he has a little more in the tank, so maybe an extra little bit of energy in those scoots? But overall I don't think his play style has changed.

I think he's definitely picking his moments better when running

Think an element is a bit more confidence in his ability to not get ragdolled if he gets out and gets caught.

Perhaps also like PS says feeling confident he can take some runs and still have enough in the tank to not let anyone down. I think any shackles were self imposed - team first, get to hooker, give good service, don’t make others have to cover your job

I always thought he was doing that fairly well, but I can't argue that his output from said runs is up this year.

I can't put my finger on it, as I really don't think his game has changed. Can only think that the extra energy is helping turn a half chance into a chance where that was less common before.

This. His decision making these days is ten times better then it use to be whether it’s passing to the right option or knowing when to run

Probably a combination of things. Our forwards have stepped up a gear (plus a shiny headed new one that's way better than anyone saw coming), Nicho is less the focal point and Blayke's a year older.

What we're seeing is a player who was always, at a minimum, solid, turning into arguably the best no.9 week to week running around. For 80 minute a game, every week. At 25 years old. What an absolute luxury for Fitz to have this bloke in the team.

It was always odd that the people who demanded an inexperienced, underperforming Trindall be selected in the top squad had basically the same defence for Trindall as the argument they used against Blayke... anyway...

Mate people have been stupid with Blayke, he has always been durable and talented and will likely have a solid origin and Australian rep career. at 25 he is heading towards his peak.
