I didn't know Show Cause notices indicated the possible length of the ban. I don't doubt SC notices have been issued, I just just don't understand how there appear to be time frames allocated at this stage.

Been doing work today for the former deputy pm, on the radio it was reported about the notices. His opinion was that the process has been a joke, no concrete evidence and that its taken 12 months too long. This is a former deputy pm.

In honesty each player deserves his own decision. Yes dragging it on keeps the club in its grasp but the players also deserve to defend themselves. Ive never thought it was any of our guys actively seeking banned gear at all.

Albo was the only decent senior member of the last government. If he says the process was a joke, he is partly blaming Kate Lundy and Jason Clare for the "blackest day in Australian Sport" If a team member says that its dodgy, it is. Next step will be an inquiry finding that whole episode was politically driven.

Haha...well, I knew the dates were wrong but he's from here, so thought it might be him.

Yeah it'd have to Vaile. Had to do a lot of reading about him lately - about the US Free Trade Agreement he brokered and its impact on Australian Intellectual Property and Copyright. Wasn't a good outcome for Australia.

Statement from the Cronulla Sharks - August 20, 2014

The Sharks have been advised that five players currently contracted to the club have received ‘show cause’ notices from ASADA.

Players have been offered a proposal regarding a possible suspension, which they need to consider before the weekend, with the players to consult with their legal representatives over the next two days in relation to their individual circumstances.

The Sharks will continue to act in the best interests of the players and are providing on-going support, both to those issued with the notices as well as others in the club, while solicitors acting for the players will continue to manage the process on their behalf.

At this point in time the Cronulla Sharks Football Club will be making no further comment on any matter relating to the ASADA investigation or today’s developments.
