Tough start to the year, but we are a work in progress, besides the Cowboys are going to beat pretty much everyone in Townsville this year, why should we be any different ;)

Anyway. Chuck your votes here.

If your new to this, we have our own player of the year award here at SF. The layout is pretty simple.
You pick three players, the player you judge as our best on ground you give 3 votes, 2nd best you give 2 votes and 3rd best 1 vote. Everyone’s votes get tallied on Thursday night (or Wednesday if we play on Thursday night the following round) and the most votes gets three points, 2nd gets 2, 3rd gets 1. Pretty simple. There’s a leaderboard thread (mods please sticky the leaderboard thread when you get a chance) and I’ll put up an updated leaderboard every week.

Anyway have at it boys.

A bit of a sympathy vote on the 1 point but the kid did nothing wrong in his debut , defended well, and probably would have had a try in the first half had they gone to the video.

Just a bit of a reminder that since we have a Thursday game in round 2, I’ll be rallying up a day earlier on Wednesday night. Thanks.

Some of Fifita's clashes with Taumalolo were monumental (not as monumental as Taumalolo's clash with his teammate of course).

I was critical of Moylan but his defence was first class, with the cows running everything at him bar the kitchen sink (If there's a Cowboys player nicknamed The Kitchen Sink I stand corrected). Moyza could have done with a bit more early ball too.

Would have had Fifita in there for his massive chargers if not for the inexcusable dumb penalties

Ava did a good job, work on fitness and defensive positioning and we could have a valuable player but I am liking his strong hit ups as it stands

Wade and Ricky worked hard, aggressive attack and defense on the left

I thought both teams looked clunky (as to be expected for Rnd 1)

We showed great promise but still have a lot to build on.

Fifi, Boogs and Prior really held their own against the bigger boys in the opposition but our D needs some work in general.

Just happy the footy is back on to be honest.
