Hynes is our Future Immortal
What did he say?Had a dig at refs at the end
He is the first Cowboys player to win the award since Preston Campbell in 2001.
He said there are only a few things that could stop them from continuing to build on this seasonWhat did he say?
I just listened to his speech, he'd had a pretty impressive speech up until he had ago at the referees & the decisions haha. Imo that ruined his speech as I'm pretty sure a lot of people would think the same. It wasn't just his team who got a few tough calls, every team in the NRL did this season. He said there are only a few things that could stop them from continuing to build on this season
- If their attitude drops
- Injuries
- Bounce of the ball; and
- Referee calls
Pretty piss poor speech in my opinion TBH.He said there are only a few things that could stop them from continuing to build on this season

Got a good chuckle from the room. Good on him he spoke with passion. Better than the cliché responses. He said there are only a few things that could stop them from continuing to build on this season

Tosser. He said there are only a few things that could stop them from continuing to build on this season

Spent that LONG crapping on in his speech that they had to cut back on the rest of the awards and the build up the winner.Tosser.
On another note, I wish they'd do it like the Brownlow and show points for every game, every round.
Madge could have said the sameHe said there are only a few things that could stop them from continuing to build on this season

A bit rich when your team is gifted 2 points in a game that you lost.He said there are only a few things that could stop them from continuing to build on this season

Of all the teams to still be dragging up ref callsA bit rich when your team is gifted 2 points in a game that you lost.
I thought the rest of the speech was fine, just long. However, the dig at the end was unnecessary. It had JT 'NRL conspiracy' vibes to it. After the tigers game, when a decision literally changed the game outcomes, he said "sometimes you just get those calls". But after a forward pass in the opening half of a final gets missed, it's the refs fault we are out.Of all the teams to still be dragging up ref calls
I haven't seen it but sounds like he lost a lot of fans with this speach
That's a pretty crazy coincidence.
Glad it is a coincidence and not a sign we have another 28 seasons to go for next premiership. That's a pretty crazy coincidence.
