Where there were numerous memberships all addressed to the same person/address, such as a family membership, there were massive dramas. This has been identified and I believe these will be consolidated so you shouldn't have this problem in the future As you identified, much of the problem is due to Ticketek but they are being ironed out..

With mine in 2014 i recieved a large parcel 1 day which contained 4 reems of 5 tickets (family flexi 5), 4 members cards, 4 members packs.
then 2 weeks later the same thing arrived. Members cards had the same numbers as previous.
I spoke to the club which they just said use them as the ticket were processed already
