Cronulla will be bolstered by the presence of five Storm players for Saturday’s NSW Cup clash with Canterbury-Bankstown at Shark Park.
Tu’u Maori, Sisa Waqa, Maurice Blair, Sione Kite and Atelea Vea will all take the field for the Sharks as they attempt to extend their winning streak to three games.
The game is set to be a cracker, with 2010 premiers the Bulldogs topping the ladder and undefeated after three games, while the Sharks will be buoyed by last week’s stunning win over the Vulcans in Auckland.
The Sharks will have to bring their best form to the game, with nine Canterbury NRL players in the Bulldogs’ side.
Cronulla will have to back their pace down the outside, with in-form Canterbury listed winger Michael Lett having scored six tries in the first three matches, including a hat trick against the Bears in Round Two.
The Storm boys will be eager to score, with Maori the only Melbourne player to cross the line for the Sharks this season.
While the speed of players such as centre Maori and winger Waqa has been highlighted as the key to the Sharks’ fortunes, it may well be the forwards who are the difference this week.
The presence of Kite and Vea in the Sharks’ line-up will be of great importance in repelling the attacks of the Bulldogs, who have scored a combined 106 points over the three games.
The game against the Bulldogs kicks off at 3.00pm this Saturday at Shark Park.
