Yeah your close. Fifita and Pele shouldnt be there ahead of Hamlin-Uele and either Wilton or Hunt. No way.

1. Kennedy
2. Katoa
3. Tracey (need to sign full time centre)
4. Ramien
5. Ronnie
6. Hynes
7. Trindall
8. Rudolph
9. McInnes
10. Hunt
11. Williams
12. Nikora
13. Finucane

14. Metcalf
15. Uele
16. Talakai
17. Graham/Wilton/(Pele soon hopefully)

-Blayke massively unlucky, but this allows McInnes at 9 (gun defender should help with missed tackle and more dominant in slowing the play) also allows Finucane at 13 which will allow him to be more involved defensively also means Brailey is being swapped for a prop helping increase pack size by approx 25kg, which will hopefully help stop the sharks pack continually being dominated
-Wade on form I would rather Williams also far less injury prone
-Moylan is no 7, given he doesn’t even kick now he isn’t taking Kennedy or Hynes position. Would rather metcalf be given a significant opportunity as he looked lethal when he was given game time

I swapped around McInnes/BB/ Finucane, but, looking at the forward pack size of the top 4 teams, Cronulla are significantly smaller and struggled all season slowing the play of the ball and making yardage.

Plenty of potential in the forward pack in Hunt, Williams, Talakai, Rudolf, Uele and Pele. With a new coach and the captain of the storm coming in will hopefully take these guy to the next level.

This is the same as mine.

Moylan is 18th man. This allows him to play his usual 3 games a year.

I’ll have a go at this. If you break it down to Definites, Probables, Possibles and Depth, I have this…

I have the forwards as high minute forwards (HMF) and low minute forwards (LMF). I think you need at least 5 high-minute guys (including hooker).

I also don’t think you need a dedicated “14” in this team, given that you have several guys capable of covering elsewhere.

Note this is my own list and not where I think the club has them.

DEFINITES

Fullback - Kennedy
Right Centre - Ramien
Right wing - Katoa
One half - Hynes
HMF x 3 - Brailey, McInnes, Finucane

That’s it for Definites imho. Everyone else is a chance to miss out (or move positions) because of injury or simply because someone else is playing better.

PROBABLES

HMF - Graham
LMF - Hamlin-Uele, Williams, Talakai, Rudolf
Left centre/wing - Mulitalo

POSSIBLES

HMF - Wilton
LMF - Pele, Hunt, Fifita
Half - Trindall (right), Moylan (left), Metcalf (either)
Bench/utility - Tracey

DEPTH

HMF - Nikora
LMF - Martin
Half - Rivett
Centre/wing - Taumoepeau, Samrani, Hiroti, Iro
Wing - Stonestreet

**

Other than a halves position being up for grabs and the left centre/wing spot being a question mark, the glaring need is at least two more high-minute forwards (ideally three). Two from the current squad and one new guy.

Without listing 1-17 I’ll say…

- Sign a starting prop
- Graham and Wilton starting edges
- Bench is BHU, Talakai, Rudolf, Williams and none play more than half a game
- Sign a left centre, or move Ronnie there and play one of the kids at left wing
- Pick any half from the possibles list above (they all have pros/cons)
- Tracey is #18 when everyone is fit and first drop in case of injury (he’ll still play a lot of games)

Briton Nikora cannot be anywhere near our starting 13. He's absolutely rubbish, runs one line (which can only be run off SJ), and cannot defend to save himself.

One of your best - agree with all of it except maybe saying that Trindall will be a lock in for the other half and Metcalf ends up taking Traceys spot

So you can't find a place in our top 17 for a guy who was streets ahead of anyone else in our squad during the year, won numerous player of the year awards with our club and finished in the top 10 in the Dally M Awards?????

The rest of your squad I could handle although there are others in weird spots but omitting Will is just plain ridiculous.

Barring injury or some other unforeseen circumstance, he'll be in the number one jersey Round 1 next year.

I would have Rudolf either off the bench or at 8, Talakai on the bench with Wilton at the 11, McInnes at 13.

Kennedy definitely at the 1, and Trindall/Hynes halves combo.

I like the idea of us defensively starting stronger and the pack being stronger and Brailey coming on after the opening 20 minutes. I would likely to see Brailey run more, which I think reducing his minutes will do. But I do think that is our top side at the moment
