I think people tend to focus on the freaks like Latrell and Turbo when they save a try with an unbelievable tackle.

Reality is not many fullbacks can do that ****, it's part of what makes them worth 1m plus.

Will is on half the salary of those guys.
Oh, so we should be happy for him to just be half as good then?

Tough stat to track mate.
If there were one, Woodsy would have to be at the top of the table each season, surely.
I swear a few years ago there was some stat about this where try causes were split into two categories and while Woods wasn't near the top for overall try causes he was the leader for ones in the worse category where defender didn't even come close to stopping it.

I had a quick google but couldn't find what I was thinking of.

Yeah fullback has a lot of stuff like this. If a fullback defends in a line a lot and never misses a tackle there, but is not around for a grubber or to cover an overlap then how do you calculate that? 10 tackles and 0 misses must be good right? etc etc

Golden raspberry of NRL would be Woods heaven.

Little bit of trivia. Will Kennedy is only the 3rd sharks FB to score a hat trick. Without checking, who are the other 2?

The scrum play on 54 seconds looks awfully similar to a Gallen scrum play

Simmo or Kearney ?

Simmo could only score doubles 😂

Kearney was always a lot of fun to watch at the back, it was a shame injuries halted his career at the Sharks, but from memory he went on to have a successful Super League career.

In regards to Will, a 2 year extension with a 3rd in the clubs favour is a no brainer, especially if it’s around the 400k mark. Dykes may be looking phenomenal in the juniors, but to lose an established fullback for someone that hasn’t been tested would be idiotic. I mean Luke Pickard was a great fullback in the juniors and the last time we saw him he was playing under the alias ‘Ben Hampton’ at Henson Park 😅🥴
