If we have other options, up and coming player, more than fine if Kennedy wasn't re-signed. Glimpses here and there, but ultimately doesn't offer much I don't feel.

why is pap done?
Don't think he will come back the same from this injury.
Read something when he first done it that no sportsmen has come back from this and had the same speed as before. His bursts of speed is his main attaching weapon.
Happy to be proven wrong as I love watching him but just can't see him getting back to his best.

Would it have killed him to get a fourth try and make things a bit more comfortable for us?:sneaky:

Career game though - quite literally as he is in the midst of contract talks

last year - injured - but still with stats that place him in the top half of fullbacks in the comp.
This year - one of our best so far.

Why are we even considering letting him go? Are people saying that Dykes is better even though he hasnt been tested to the same extent? He is a must to keep. I have watched a few games with DYkes and yep he is good but there is no way hes currently better than Kennedy injury free.

I think going from being the best player in the team to having support around him + injury, made him a bit unappealing to some. That and the consensus that he’s a bad fullback because he doesn’t sniff around the ruck enough. I don’t think I’ve seen a player improve so much in back to back years. Last year was the only one he didn’t improve leaps and bounds, but I’m sure he learned a lot. There is so way we can get rid of him. When Trindal and Kennedy are on the field together magic happens.

Dykes is a weapon - different style of player then Kennedy

If you can somehow have a combination of Kennedy,Dykes,Trindall and Hynes on the field at the same time it will be game over for a lot of teams

I’d love for it to be longer, but it’s smart in the sense that we don’t have all our players coming off contract at once. If he kills it, there is nothing stopping us from extending him.

A hatrick doesn't always necessarily net you best player or 321 honors but Kennedy was pivotal in that game and was probably his best performance to date.

From an individual perspective anyway not a play making one. Kept it simple and didn't obsess about the sweep play out the back. We created numbers on the edges and exploited some loose Parra defense which was quite compressed in the middle.

He didn't have any line break assists or try assits but he wasn't trying to play like a 3rd halfback and create as much as just hit holes and support the ball carrier and I am ok with that as he did it very well. We know he is a good play maker on his day as well.

Defense could be the thing that holds him back from ascending to being that next level of full back but he had little to no chance on some of those Parra trys

Until Kennedy is consistent and also picks up his defensive game, he isn't a must have.

Dykes, Trindall, Hynes must be kept. But for the sake of discussion, the only way to keep those 4 your mentioned on the field at the same time is if Trindall is hooker I think?
