Yeah Kennedy isn't the reason we lost. Not saying Dykes is better but you don't let him go unless you have a better replacement.

Kennedy came off a long injury lay off and a brutal game which he played well in and then he had one bad game. And he was not alone. We're not letting him ago.

Reckon we'll be offering less now than we would have a few months ago. That's my hunch
Glad the club didn’t rush into it. I think we have him signed till next year? Throw him a one year extension, maybe an upgrade, and see how him and Dykes progress.

A good ol’ fashioned Fullback-off will be good them both.

I don’t agree with Gus very much but I agree with him that Dykes looks ready for NRL now and needs to play.

Whether that is at 6 or 1 I am not sure but Will has to be on notice ..

Kennedy came on leaps and bounds last year, and became an absolute lynch pin of our attack through those sweeping plays. He also defuses kicks as safely as Barba, which is amazing to have at the back. This year, he continued to do those things, but they had become expected of him, which is why I think a few of his flaws were noticed more.

He doesn't possess the elite physical attributes of many of the top fullbacks, so if he wants to hit that next level he needs to model himself off Gutho. Gutho is all heart and effort on the field and makes up for what he lacks in size and strength. I don't think Will has that desire and effort in him though.

Never know though, he apparently credited the competition from Tracey for Fullback in his big step up last year. Hopefully some real competition in Dykes will make it happen.

I think that's a good call. Agree, not just anyone can do the one percenters that Gutho does, you really need to want it. Like you said, I don't think Will has that desire.

Yep, pretty fair assessment. I guess the question will be how far can you go without a top tier fullback and how long are you prepared to wait to see if he can become one.

I genuinely see signs that he's headed in the right direction, but mentally he's got to figure out how to play with injury.

The Cowboys game really highlighted this. The Dearden and Hiku efforts obviously, but the feldt try was very frustrating too. They were tackled on our our left edge, and the shift to the right was clear as day. He had time to get there to provide an extra man on the edge, Gutho, Teddy, Turbo get there easily, Will wasn't even in the frame. That's all desire to work hard for your mates.

I agree, even just overcoming fatigue. I think you can win a comp with a mid-teir fullback if the side around them is good enough. We probably need our 6,1 or 9 to take that next step though to get the team across the line.

Reading Bort's 3-2-1 summary makes me think the pressure's all on Will then!
