I don’t think Kennedy is the long term answer but he’s better than Miller. Hopefully Dykes can kick on, but not like he’s a gun defender either.

No use writing off individual players when the whole team fails. Clearly wasn’t 100% ready. Still will be first choice for at least another year

He is starting to look very light weight for me , defensively especially , it worries me he never seems to be close to where tries are scored against us . Not sure if he still has upside , don't think Miller is the option , Dykes gives me some hope , whether he is a fullback or half i'm not sure , haven't seen enough of him . But next season will be big for Will to show he is the long term solution .

Top tier fullbacks are almost all bigger bodies these days so I'm hoping Will adds a few kegs to his bantom weight frame.

The positive for me is that it's obvious what he needs to work on. If Fitz is half as good as we think then they'll sort it out. I think Will is good enough to get there

Cant defend and too slow.
The defence can be worked on but all everyone seems to say what he offers in attack is his ability to chime into backline movements. He's not much of an individual threat other than that imo - you look at Miller and Dykes they look far more threatening. I particularly like Dykes sniffing around the middle he seems to do, plus he's fast and elusive.

But the first bit is also valuable
He ranks 6th of regular fullbacks for total try involvements*
He’s down the list on his own tries but 4th for assists and 3rd for contributions.
Obviously yes great if he can also become a more threatening runner himself but what he offers in attack is pretty good overall. Not a lot of compete packages getting about.

It’s a team sport.
Mr Highlight Miller looks flashy running but barely scores himself in NSW cup

* yes stats don’t mean everything or tell a full story and so on

Kennedy won our player of the year last year, he was one of our best for most of the year, and probably the safest in the comp under the high ball. He had a couple of weaker games coming back from injury (though 2 tries still last week), and with a disrupted backline last night (no Talakai last night absolutely killed what Kennedy brings).

I’m all for Dykes getting a good shot at fullback when he earns it, but I just don’t see the logic of everyone wanting to throw away half the team because they are not the best player in their position in the comp.
