He's basically turned everything around! - I will be the first to admit I had low expectations and doubted his long term potential for us. He's improved out of this world. The confidence he gets from this season going into the off season will be great for him too.

Easily best player for us this year. And hopefully solves our long term fullback situation.

Def had potential
I wanted to get someone in to compete with him and thought whoever it was would probably be a season long competition.
The fullback-off with even just Tracey was enough as it turns out, not only our most improved but just flat out our best player this season.

If anything Connor's performance at FB in the trial game (which was terrible) took pressure off Kennedy which makes Kennedy's performance and stepping up this year more impressive - he is self motivated to be better even in the absence of alternatives

Kennedy, Hynes, Moylan, Metcalf then maybe Tracey would be the new pecking order next season if the coach is objective

That's an interesting take on couch coaching, if the actual coach doesn't agree with you he's not objective...

For me personally, I'm clearly not objective, Moylan is just not able to be considered for fullback anymore.

Look up the meaning of objective

If the coach is then Tracey will be down the list of viable options. If he wants to be 'loyal' or take a punt he can elevate Tracey but Kennedy and Hynes have runs and form on the board in the 1 (Tracey doesn't and hasn't shown potential for this position either) and Moylan has experience even if he breaks down every 3rd week

The only one that can realistically put pressure on Kennedy will be Hynes, MAYBE Metcalf further into the future

Very good point about him having to be self motivated

I know what it means, I'm just not convinced Fitz couldn't be objective and still come up with a slightly different list to you.

You're saying Kennedy and Hynes are 1 and 2 because they have runs on the board at the position but it could also be fair to say Tracey has runs in the NRL over Metcalf.
Maybe Fitz considers it a fact not an opinion that Moylan's legs are more glass than JT13s hands and so would rank him lower due to risk of injury.
Similarly Hynes has performed very well at fullback also, perhaps Fitz would actually objectively rank him 1 and Kennedy 2. And then even still play Hynes in halves because we need him there more.
Not sure by what definition of loyalty we would see Fitz running Tracey at 1 ahead of Kennedy or Hynes, that is definitely a decision I would seriously question.

Fitz would subjectively put together a "similar" pecking order to me ;)

yes Tracey has more NRL experience than Metclaff but this experience in the NRL has shown us Connor is hopeless everywhere in the spine

With increased bulk and fitness could Will play at 6 with Hynes at 1 or is this a total and pure fantasy?

Seems pretty fantastical at this stage, we've got a player established in our team in fullback and another coming who can play fullback or half. Really feels like assessing that and ending up at the combo of 1 Hynes 6 WK isn't the most sound assessment.

If Hynes was struggling at 6/7 next year but Will was going decent I think probably more likely with current roster Hynes pushes to centre than we try and force a swap. If they were both struggling maybe you'd see a swap but then we are probably ****ed already.

I could perhaps imagine WK being a Cody Walker type 6 down the line with a bit of size but I don't think it's in his immediate future, and also may never happen.

Why would you though?

Kennedy has mostly played fullback and Hynes was a half the vast majority of his junior days.

You could try it if Hynes fails to fire, but I think Will would more likely go to wing or centre.

I remember there was a bloke in here that mentioned this for Val....

Thats the kind of nonsense you see on the facebook group. I like ya Chad but that’s a shocker mate. Sorry. :(

All good responses - clearly I was on some other planet when I wrote that.

HB, you have a bloody good memory!

I am just concerned that because we signed Moylan for another year then somebody is going to miss out.

At the moment it looks like Kennedy at 1, Hynes at 6 and Trindall at 7, so where do you put Moylan?

I don't see Hynes as a 7 or as a centre.

Personally at this stage I am assuming 6 Moylan 7 Hynes but a long time before any decision needs to be made there.

If I had my way, he’d be in the reserves.

He can prepare the teams water then. Obviously he wont be the running it out to the players because, you know, he can’t.

All the better if he spikes it, we might even play better.

We would get done for “Gatorade” contaminated water!!
Unfair advantage.
