Will is 29. At this stage of his career, a decent 3 year deal would be an incredible safety net for him and his family. A significant injury could go close to ending his career.

Either a long term deal on the money he wanted wasn't on the table, or he loves the club so much that he was prepared to take the risk to remain here on the shorter term deals we could make work.

If it's the later, build him a statue. But I think it's reasonable to assume it's the former.

I was more refuting the concept it’s a fact no other club would want him rather than what those deals may of looked like (or not looked like) and his reasoning as to why he’d take our and look past others.

I certainly strongly suspect he wasn’t in tremendous demand.

I’m sure people had their reasons around why nobody else would have offered Chad anything. And in that instance those were proven wrong.

I don't think too many really have claimed either were facts. Anyone claiming they factually know what is or isn't offered at all is full of ****.

Outside of performance, we are mostly debating what is reasonable or unreasonable speculation.

Okay, claiming facts vs ‘pretty obvious’ something is known then
I guess slightly different

It is, because we're then into the subjective. Your pretty obvious and mine can be completely different because we interpret the information differently. Which is fine. Like where burgo and I differ we can place different value on the information too. Either way, as he said, the correct answer in all of these circumstances is I don't know. Everything else is speculation without inside information.

I’d suggest when people say something is ‘obvious’ and ‘know’ they aren’t leaving too much room for other people’s subjectivity to be different to theirs. But maybe that’s subjective.

I appreciate at the end you get to I don’t know being the correct answer though, because that’s how this chain started, me saying someone didn’t know.

My hunch is that keeping Kennedy hungry has been the thing that has made him into the player he is today.

He comes across as a super nice guy and needs to have the urgency of next contract to turn him relentless.

This season he's been putting his body on the line a lot more and running into the teeth of defence without fear.

it was just a standard game for Will. the metres he made us out of our own half taking the the ball on the fly is understated

You know he’s having a great season and has turned a huge corner when he has 20 runs for 191m, 1 line break, a line break assist and a try assist and doesn’t appear in some 3 2 1’s at all
I didn't have him points but not arguing those that give him some.

The way he is playing at the moment, the rhetoric around us not being able to win a comp with him at the back is definitely put to bed.

In most other games that I watch involving other teams, when a kick goes up I watch to see if the fullback can diffuse it. Gotta admit when the opposition puts up a kick I take it for granted that Kennedy has that **** covered. Bloke is solid as a ****ing rock. Given how we play, there isn’t that many fullbacks I would consider over him in our side at the moment. Obviously I would love Kennedy to have game breaking run ability of guys like Weeks or Hammer, one-on-one try saving ability of a prime Turbo or Latrell but then we have ****ing Billy Slater reincarnate at the back and that would cost a lot.

Just out of interest, who is everyone’s number 1 fullback this season?

How do we rate them 1-17? We can even leave some room for the extras like Trey Fuller and Jye Gray. I’m going to say you have to disregard their salary otherwise Will Kennedy would be heads and shoulders above the rest. If money wasn’t a thing, who is the best fullback?
