Half inch? Nah that was clear and obvious in. Sham the bunker can't rule against it. Like what the hell is it there for.

The same gripe I have with forwards passes.
Clear and obvious feels generous, you’ve got better eyes than me.

On one live look I thought maybe he was in but I didn’t think it was clear and obvious.
Slow mo replay made it clear and obvious.

Not sure when then bunker would have ruled anything. If he got tackled in goal bunker actually probably would have ruled, but play was called dead by ref before that, on touchies flag.
We could have used a review and had last play replayed if we were so confident.

No time for bunker to have a live look between flag going up and refs whistle.
It’s a **** one to review without us using a challenge as the play doesn’t finish properly.

I think it’s fair to say Will’s foot was in play when he leaped in the air, it was more his feet landed outside the field of play as he threw the ball back in. Split second stuff and I defy any of you on here to get that call right.

Yeah I’m not going to crucify the touchy putting the flag up. Had to make a split-second call and doesn’t get the benefit of slow-mo replays from six different angles after the fact like we did.

I suppose we could of challenged it.

I would have called it correctly and let the game play on.

I defy you defying me.

Most of you know how I feel about this guy and this season I've been patiently waiting for his form to fall off a cliff like it did last year and the year before.

It hasn't happened yet and I now believe (hope) this guy really has found his happy medium to being a consistent player week in week out. With that, I really do think the club needs to extend him for another year or two & have Ison in the background ready to go if his form dips or injury strikes.

With the new rules though, I'd also like us to be a bit adventurous with Ison playing off the bench for a few games this season to get him up to date with the speed of the game and see how he handles it. It's been done before with players of his size so why shouldn't we experiment it with him.

Re Ison, I feel if he didnt do his ACL he probably would have been on the 6 man bench for a few games this year.

Right now though, he needs to just focus on week to week fullback role and getting miles in his legs.

Unlikely while Brailey is out I reckon. Need the bench spot for the two-hooker rotation.

I could get behind a Taj Ford inclusion on the 6 man bench though.

Ison also isn't really what I'd call small. Maybe 2 years ago he was. He's not big either, but when you see him with other players he's really just "normal size". I think his running style makes him look shorter than he is.

This is good to know. Never seen him play in person only on the tv. He looks small on the screen lol

Catching up on his last few games, I've been left with this feeling of "I swear he appeared to be faster".

I'm not sure if that's me building him up in my head in the time he had out, or him just easing in from a major injury, or adding size/muscle, but he just appears a step or two slower than before.

That said, he's still not slow, and uses what he has to great effect.

Yeah maybe still working back up to full speed. Insane ability to beat a tackler or two though.

Yeah, he has no right to break some of the tackles he does. There was one kick return last week in the first half, I think that eventually led to a try, that he looked like he had spiders on him bouncing out of tackles.

Happy for him to go another 3-4 weeks in NSW cup but I still don't think playing him for 1 or 2 games off the bench does him any harm or gets in the way of his continued development. Actually, think it would be a huge benefit to give him a 20-minute stint off the bench.

Might be tough to find Ison some first grade minutes at the moment. You'd think the piority would go to players set to take positions of those who have already signed elsewhere

Yeah it's not a bad idea. You just already have plenty of guys fighting for bench spots. Even the guys regularly in the 19 aren't seeing much time. Hohepa will get some footy now at hooker but has only played about 15 minutes as a running forward so far this season. Jones hasn't played yet. Uele and Kaufusi stuck in Cup... and so on.

But the bunker does!
End of the day, we still win but the bunker pokes its nose in a lot of calls, why not review and override that?
Would have been mega pissed if we ended up losing that game and THAT decision had a direct effect.

But isn't that what the challenge is for?

Bunker only automatically reviews trys and restarts for drop outs etc.
