He was revved up big time just a minute later when he got the ball back into play from the short grubber.

Agree it was strange, because even Stonestreet was pointing to the 40-20. Still was a great kick though

I think Will just read his angle wrong. I was sat halfway in the lower ET stand and thought it was going out on the full initially as well.

Stoney had the best angle and Will didn’t shift gear until he called the 40/20.

Even if he only got out of ingoal due to ref calling play dead, which is quite possible. I’d still take the contestable drop out from being tackled ingoal

Hard done by, but it was a matter of half an inch... Also he landed almost right at the same time he released the ball.
I can understand why the touchie raised his flag. Of course, I might be less understanding had we lost the game as result of this play.

Fantastic effort by Will regardless, and I too think he'd have escaped from the in-goal whistle or not.
