Which is a concern as I'd say that is where we spent the extra money we saved on not having an elite fullback
Yeah, I think the game has changed this season more than we (and a few other teams) anticipated and due to this our squad is now not overly suited to the new game. Hazleton, BHU and to some extent Talakai (in defence), Tuks are no longer suited to the way the game is played.

I think you can carry one big bopper life AFB and one on the bench but you need to have your engine room be more mobile.

Kennedy ain’t the problem with our performances and if he’s happy to re-sign for 400-450k, we’d be idiots not to jump on it.

There’s a lack of quality fullbacks on the market at the moment (I mean Drinkwater’s snagged himself 950k ffs) and Will’s still great value if we throw him an extra 100k on top of his current contract.

I’m less inclined to ask why our 350k fullback isn’t giving us million dollar performances and instead want to know why our marquee players aren’t living up to their value.

Great post mate. Spot on.

He was good again tonight, as he has been pretty much all season. I am warming to the idea of giving him another season, there’s just no better option out there.

He gets a bit of flak for his defence but saved two tries tonight

Said it earlier today and I’ll say it again, we’d be mental not to extend Kennedy. Been our best this year and loves the club.

Ison’s a decent prospect, but Kennedy’s a proven first grader and is top tier when it comes to bang for your buck for a spine player.

If Kennedy wants security, offer him a 3 year extension. If Ison shows he needs to be in the squad, promote him to firsts and shop Kennedy around. Struggling clubs will be happy to take a safe fullback that’s cheap as chips (guarantee someone like the Doggies would happily take Kennedy for his current contact value based on Tracey’s form).
