Chambers given green light to make NRL return with Cronunlla
A deal is set to be confirmed in the next 24 hours (we all know they mean 48 hours)

Former Melbourne Storm centre Will Chambers is set to join Cronulla for the remainder of the 2021 season, with Sharks great Paul Gallen playing a significant role in the imminent signing.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Chambers is set to put pen-to-paper on a deal that will see him earn over $100,000 to play out the rest of the year.

With the Sharks’ outside-back stocks plagued with injuries, Chambers firms as a reinforcement for interim coach Josh Hannay and will depart Japanese rugby club Suntory Goliath to return to the NRL.

Chambers has been training in Melbourne and is understood to have sought after Gallen’s permission to make sure any bad blood had been cleared given their past resentments.

“Will wanted to make sure that if he was to come, that there would be no issue from my end,” Gallen told The Daily Telegraph.

“He said he basically wanted my blessing — I don’t think that was necessary, but that’s how he explained it. I told him what happened on the field, stayed on the field and it was all in the past for me.

“He spoke about why he wanted to come to Cronulla and how he saw the same tough character traits of the Storm in the Sharks. I told him there would be no problem, if he wanted to come.”

Chambers, a former Maroons and Kangaroos star, is set to officially become the Shire’s latest singing in the coming days.

A return to the NRL would make it Chambers’ third stint in the league, having left Melbourne in 2010, only to return two years later before ending his time with the Storm in 2019.

I know Gal isn't real popular outside Cronulla but it says a lot about him he can happily put beef with Chambers aside, and has no beef with Cam and other prominent Queenslanders.

If he's going to become the Sharks latest singing I hope he at least knows the words.

thats the time storm and sharks combined reserves team? when was that exactly???

Yep that's the one!
2013 they wrapped up the minor premiership with a month still left of competition. The grand final winning side only featured 4 storm players the rest were all Sharks including Chad Townsend, Tyrone Peachey, and Michael Lichaa.

**** this is weird. Not really sure how I feel about this.

I know what you mean mate, I agree with you.

Could not stand the prick when he had a purple shirt on.

But I hope those still there from our 2016 side, slap him on the back and thank him profusely for not completing "that pass" to Cronk.

I was also one that disliked him at Melbourne, but this is a good signing for us. We need a centre and he’s still a good player.

Wow. I really could not stand this bloke, I mean really couldn't stand him.

But nonetheless, I welcome him and his experience!
