Not one but many, he is not early in his career he is 5 years into his career. And lets be 100% honest he is nowhere near as talented as Slater. Either in brains or physical skill.
Slater has had plenty of brain explosions.

Made up for with many more quaility performances. We are talking about a bloke who held onto his contract by the skin of his teeth, who took for granted his position and team mates and broke many team rules. He has put together three performances that have been good but before that he was average. Even in yesterdays game he missed two tackles that lead to tries. GI will chew him up and spit him out. Morris and Jennings are better options.

Gal, lewis and Carney should be certainties if we're serious about winning.

Gordon will be close to a wing spot but just miss out and fifita will miss out due to us only going with 3 props.

Agree that Morris and Jennings are better options which is why I said Fergo will be on a wing.

I would go:
1 Hayne
2 Gordon
3 Jennings
4 Morris
5 Taufua (I think Taufua will grow to be a great Origin player and for now would handle it)
6 Carney
7 A. Reynolds
8 Woods
9 Farah
10 Tamou
11 Watmough
12 Bird
13 Gallen

14 Lewis
15 Grant
16 Fafita
17 Mateo (Strange selection I know. Would only be used in short stints at the back ends of halves to provide some X Factor. This spot would normally belong to T-Rex but he has been horrible in the games I've watched and I don't think he would stand up. My other usual pick would be Hinchcliffe as a back up hooker/backrower.)

We can't go in with the same old side. I think that halves pairing would steer us around well and provide a good threat. Fafita would be used to punch holes through the defence. Mateo would be used to come on and play an x factor role with his offloads etc. I don't think Mateo's game suits Origin and normally I wouldn't give him a go but he might be that something different we need to break this QLD side.

So Gordon, Carney, Gallen, Lewis and Fafita would get a run from our side. I think these guys are the only realistic chances from our side too.

Nope can't agree Jorge Tufua is much stronger option, better in defence as good in attack. Gordon on the other.

8- grant
9- farah
10- tamou
11- hoffman
12- bird

How about they all tell the NSWRL and NRL to go and get pharked and worry about the club for a change.

I hope none of them make it.

As much as I'd love it to happen it won't when the players get extra money for playing in these games.

Why not? The previous board went without payment for the club's sake. Why can't players?
I think you will find all players have the dream of playing Origin and/or for their Country it's a pretty big deal for these blokes. Plus they get the extra $. I know we want them to play for our club but any fit player who turns down the opportunity to play in these games is an idiot (I'm looking at you Jamie Lyon).

Bit harsh. Lyon has played rep footy before. If he doesn't want to play then that's entirely up to him, doesn't make him an idiot.

I was more using him as an example. He has done it all before, obviously achieved what he wanted and chooses not to take up that extra money. I do think he should play because I believe it's a waste of talent him not doing it. Plus I hate the fact Manly gets to keep a player of his class at Origin. Each case is different though most would want to acheive as much as possible.
