Saving Money

With the current climate and the number of people(or lack of) that I saw last time I visited our mighty club I think the money should be saved to keep the wolves from the door.

I'm disappointed as Fraser really did improve significantly last year but perhaps he could see that there were a lot of great backrowers on our books - if only we had some pace out wide...

We need a decent centre to partner pommers.Any available at the moment?

Just watching fox sports and they said that anderson hasn't actually signed anything yet and the deal is'nt done and dusted.
This is a quote of an email from Lance Thompson to foxsports:

The sharks have jumped the gun as no release from the sharks will be effective unless and until Fraser signs official contracts with the Japanese company concerned. At the moment he is still contracted to the sharks, and the sharks are aware of this case.
Lance Thompson to foxsports.

Nulla read my mind and possibly Ricky's. I think the only reason the Sharks granted a release to Fraser was because Ricky may be in the market for a specialist centre especially if Filiga does not fire.

Mega makes a great point about Birdy and there is no secret that Ricky wants him back BUT will the sponsors and board take him back?

Available Centres? Monaghan has still not signed with Canberra beyond this year. Matt King is in the UK.

I agree, we need some speed outwide for sure! Not knowing how well Stapleton or Orcher will go this year. I am leaning towards saving the money for the purchase of Carney next year myself??

Keep the money. Barrett is not around for that many years. Need to find an established young half. I think we have the rest of the positions covered with our younger players.

Have faith in the team we have. But hey, Crocker would be a handy pick up for 1 season. Brings aggression & experience to the club. But either way, Happy to keep money or spend it.

I wouldn't mind getting crocker for the year. I think the Sharks should just put everything they have into winning the premiership this year.

Maybe save the cash for the 2010 season, then add it to the huge booty of the departing Ben Ross and we could have some serious cash to shop around with?

A lot of teams will be chasing Carney headed by obvious big spenders Roosters and Manly. My question is who is available for the 2010 season?

We probably wont even spend it, with the financial situation we're in, there really is no sense in throwing it all out back onto the market, besides, no one is on the market, wait until next year, sell simmons and throw the money to a quality centre who isnt actually scared to play football.

You are right if its just sitting there it won’t make any difference. There are a few players off contract at the end of the year anyway....

if bird is cleared in April whats stopping from him joining mid season? or does he have to wait until end of year to be re-registered?
