I was wondering what happened to Kurt Dillon as hadn't seen him in our line up for ages.

He played in the trial game for Newtown this year. Looks like he either didn't get the gig or got a better offer.

What ever happened to Jamile Hoppa?

Such a waste of talent. Not just the drug stuff. The rubbish before too.

In that Redcliffe season and on GF day I would have taken Hoppa over Toby easily.

He sighed with the Sharks on a 1 year deal with a player option. Unfortunately for him, the first year was 2016, when the Sharks had possibly the healthiest year in history. He got offered a contract with the Dogs, so didn’t take up the Sharks option. The following year he was one of the better halves in the comp and led the Dogs to the NSW Cup title. He didn’t get a run in NRL despite outplaying other guys who did. The Bulldogs offered him another one year deal but he wanted to come back to Brisbane (family reasons I think).

He is still a good player. Just didn’t really get his shot during his time in Sydney (a la Fogerty). Playing for Ipswich isn’t really the best way to raise your profile. Even though they are technically still a Broncos feeder the haven’t had much to do with them the last few years.

Not a Sharks one but one you likely have an answer for, how's Josh Rogers going?

Decent. I like him. He’s one of the first choice halves this year. 2018/2019 he was more like “first man in”. The problem Burleigh have this year (other than no Fogerty) is that every few games they have to drop one of their starting halves for Tanah Frikkin’ Boyd - which means Rogers or someone else goes to the bench. They are undefeated in games Boyd didn’t play.

I haven’t been to see them live yet this year (kids’ footy keeps clashing) but I’ll get there soon.

Rogers is the first choice goalkicker this year too.

Wouldn't have guessed he'd play NRL, still sounds unlikely, but good to hear he is a decent competitor at Cup level

I’m disappointed by this thread.

I thought I was going to find out where Mick Mullane is now or Dave Chamberlain or Paul Khan.

That's a blast from the past Chad. Back in the day I sank more than the odd schooner with 'Genghis' Khan at the Caringbah pub, quite often in company with half the first grade team.

Paul Khan was from Nth Qld and I believe he returned back there.

Luke Douglas is captain-coach of Ballina Seagulls. Last week they played a Tweed Coast side featuring Michael Gordon. The previous week Ballina played against a Byron side featuring Todd Carney.

I heard a story about Luke Douglas recently from a guy who did some coaching in the Titans system. Apparently when he arrived at the Titans they told him his tackle technique wasn’t good enough. They made him learn again from scratch. Started on his knees, slowly progressed etc. Apparently he wasn’t allowed to train with the main squad until this was sorted.

Ben Pomeroy:
Last I heard he was still working for the Panthers in some capacity to do with game day experience. (That was last year)

How many weeks do you reckon a Pom-Slam would be worth in V’landys-ball?

Wow. Way to make a high profile recruit feel welcome.

I saw an albert kelly named for the broncos, and i started wondering what happenned to our albert kelly from years ago. So i look it up, and its the same ****ing albert kelly.

Then i see hes been carving up england for years, and abusing chicks in mcdonalds while full of piss. I’d even forgotten he ever played for the titans...
