I bought a brand new Google Pixel 3a a couple of years ago. $600 roughly.

It's an ok phone with a good camera.

I've had charging issues with it since I first got the thing. The ports are clean so I think there's an issue with the connection.

Too late for warranty now. I'm so annoyed with spending every morning trying to wiggle the 5 different chargers, (that I've bought to try and sort the issue), into a spot where the stupid thing will start to charge that I've given up and I'm just going to buy a new one.

Anyone here have any suggestions on the best android to buy? I'm thinking of just going back to Samsung as I never really enjoyed the way the Google Pixel worked anyway.

I'd pay just about anything to avoid charging stress every day.

Are you Apple in the computer world too?

Apple for me is like the 'other forum'.

Until now I've felt quite happy for Egg to update me on all the things that happen in AppleWorld. But he hasn't delivered so far.

I always buy mid level Samsung phones and they last me 3 years. Usually around $500.

Cheers, yeah I'm most likely going back to Samsung.

I'm after low level drama.

The less I have to contemplate having a phone the closer to Utopia I become.

Absolutely. I used to be right into phones 20yrs ago always had the latest, knew all about them. I got a iphone something now with the the ringer & vibrate turned off. Its used to make calls & catch txts pretty much. Never even used the 8 trillion megapixel camera or the suite of apps. I love being unable to be contacted & it drives others bonkers. I reply to you pricks on here in a more timely manner than I do anyone calling my phone.

The value of 'no drama' to me is probably worth at least $25 a day. Just want something I don't need to think about.

Hot apple pie with vanilla icecream is my favourite desert so maybe I should be making a change.

My Samsung S8+ has a dicky charging port also, but all fixed by getting the wireless charger for it. They're the best thing.

My Google Pixel 3a is one of the few models of the Pixel phone that doesn't have wireless charging. Murphy's Law.

I think I'm going to get a Samsung A52 and send the Pixel swimming in the Yarra.

Take a look at Oppo mate if you don't want to pay the Samsung Tax

I got a brand new Oppo with large screen, 64GB storage, 8 core, dual sim ect. for about $380 (price matched) from Office Works last year. The equivalent Samsung model similar specs was 1.5-2 times that price. Oppo is great value but the quality is still good. I don't like carrying around expensive phones but still need it to be functional and nice to use.

I would look at Oppo before buying a Sam A52. I went through the same decision/research myself last year

My Oppo has a 5200mAh battery that last for ages without charging even when using the phone daily. It has a universal type C charging port which is piece of piss to plug in becoming common place now and has the lighting charge function thingy that gives it a stack of battery with a quick 15 min charge

Camera for photos is decent, video is good, sound reasonable and loud for a phone. Newer or higher classed models no doubt better. Mine was mid range specs. Even came with a case and tempered glass screen protector pre-installed.

I should have got a smaller model though as the large screen doesn't fit in my hand

My previous HTC phone lasted me over 8 years but was stuck on older Android and started to have battery and performance issues hence the upgrade. I would have kept that thing until it well and truly died otherwise, used to throw it around like a paper weight lol, was good in it's day
