I hear Wendell is coming back next season.... does anyone know if the sharks are going to chase him? I would love to see a high profile player like him join the club maybe just what we need.

I thought everyone but the drags and possibly the warriors already said they weren't interested? And I certainly hope that we're not, because he's rubbish and has been for years now.

I think that is his way to raise his profile so he can get a start myself.

But too old, unless as someone said you got him for nothing.

We should have a play at Wendell, people on here seem to want to purchase a game-breaking outside back, and not forgetting that before he left League he was certainly one of the most damaging wingers going around. And I don't think his personal troubles could count against him either considering we signed up Taulapapa and Seymour.

yes very damaging, i sore brett howling pick him up and dump him and he lost the ball, right in front of the sharks supporters hill, wendell is gutless he never took on the defence straight on, he always ran side ways and playing for the broncos made him look far betta than he is. the only time he looked good when their is a gap in front of him,

Hrvatska, let's not forget that the last time he played rugby league was over five years ago, and by the time his drugs ban expires next year he will be 33. He is nowhere near the player now that he was during his time at the Broncos, he is far too slow for an outside back (he makes Luke Covell look like a speed demon - sorry Jigsaw! :p ), nor would he be an option in the forwards as he is a defensive liability. I wouldn't take him even if we could get him for nothing.

in his prime, he was big , black, very athletic, and very useless. he is just a very fit man. he is not a footballer. he played in a very good team that made him look good, and he has the most uncomfortable running style

While I am not saying we should get him, given I am sceptical.

Isn't the guy you are all bagging so emphatically a dual international. So are you saying the following coaching staff and selectors are incompetant:
Broncos, ARL, QLD Reds, Waratahs and ARU.

That is a pretty long bow too draw.

My conclusion take him if he is cheap (but I can't define what cheap is).

Thanks Sempa for talking a bit of common sense.

Sure Sailor hasn't played for 5-6 years but that didn't count Rogers who slotted right back into League in his first game for the Titans. Plus Wendell's market value would've dramatically decreased seeing that demand for his signature is relatively non-existant. So he probably wont cost that much so if he is a flop we can just offer him a 1 year contract and if he doesn't perform he can be dropped to Premier League. My point is that if he does come to the Sharks it's a relatively win-win situation and if it doesn't work out no damage will be done.

Personally I don't think Ricky will chase after him because of his age and recent history. I reckon Souths or the Raiders are a shoein to sign him.
