Thanks for that Peachey, I'm a fanatic cricket fan and hope Australia wins the WC but whats the point in having the Netherlands and Scotland when my grampa could beat both teams with one hand (even though his dead). The World Cup really is a farce!

its actually quite important that there in there for the growth of the game, they won there qualifiers in there respective areas, see in the rugby league world cup we will have small nations in there ( qualifying hasnt finished) eg; georgia are looking the goods to make it, malta, tonga , fiji has qualified, etc

in the cricket world there are 2 tiers of cricket all the major teams are tier one eg aussies sth africa etc, then there is the 2nd tier - ireland scotland namibia netherlands canada kenya bermuda USA and many many more and i mean many many more, basically the 1st tier is the teams the ICC has given test status to

look here soon as i am trying to find the 30 man world cup squad

It was good to watch particularly the part where Haydos said he was in a good frame of mind because he had spent the morning surfing at cronulla!

Did you guys hear Gillys reason for having 'Church", as his name on his shirt? I thought it was hilarious.

Australia World Cup preliminary squad Adam Gilchrist (wk), Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting (capt), Phil Jaques, Shane Watson, Simon Katich, Michael Hussey, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Marcus North, Adam Voges, Brad Hodge, Travis Birt, Shaun Marsh, Cameron White, Mark Cosgrove, Brad Haddin (wk), James Hopes, Andrew McDonald, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Hauritz, Stuart Clark, Glenn McGrath, Daniel Cullen, Nathan Bracken, Shaun Tait, Shane Harwood, Ben Hilfenhaus.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Australia have chosen a preliminary 30-man squad for their title defence. The names include a mix of youth and experience, with the most notable omission being Rogers, whose stellar Pura Cup form this year has not extended to the domestic limited-overs competition. A number of players who will push for a spot in the one-day team in the next few years were named, including the batsmen Adam Voges, Marcus North, Travis Birt, Shaun Marsh and Mark Cosgrove, and the bowlers Ben Hilfenhaus, Daniel Cullen and Nathan Hauritz. Although Watson is Australia's preferred allrounder, Queensland's James Hopes and Victoria's Andrew McDonald have been rewarded for their domestic efforts. The selectors showed Brad Hodge is still in their thoughts, while his Victoria team-mate, the fast bowler Shane Harwood, 32, was a surprise inclusion.

im glad they chose hilfenhaus he has been the standout one day bowler in domestic cricket for years now he has been leading the tassie pace attack around and showing all the selectors and opponents that he deserves to be there.

His only been around for a couple of seasons Sharkiesfreak you make him sound like a seasoned campaigner, his a good player though but i reckon if his not swinging the ball around he might get pummeled to all parts of the ground because of his lack of variety and pace:)

Did you see today's one-dayer from Wellington, that has to be the worst performance I have seen from an Australian side for years, probably ever. I felt really sorry for Mike Hussey, he is a fantastic player and seems like a great guy as well, but it couldn't have been much fun as captain of that side out there today.

Well you didn't miss much, that is for sure. They only have a day to turn it around before the next game in Auckland on Sunday - still deciding whether to go to that or the Warriors-Mt Albert trial!

Please megashark, mike hussey is the worst one day player going around the world he is way to slow. People say he is the bevan type player that is a load of bullplop bevan was and will always be the best one day player ever. Hussey is alright in test but not ODI how the hell did he wind up with the captaincy anyways he doesnt deserve it.
