BBL was so much funner to watch when Waugh/Warne were commentators.

Ponting & Langer are too serious
Agreed. I remember when they had a panel of Symonds, Warne and One of the channel 7 guys. With Hayden on the boundary commentating. Was ****ing brilliant to listen too.

Warne was a painful commentator, terrible. Loved Symo though, miss him.

I liked Warne's commentary but I think we had a similar discussion about our differing thoughts on that back when he was in the land of the living, if my memory serves me correctly.
I even enjoyed his 'hawaiian pizza wwith the grease dribbling down your chin' anecdotes.

With the Test now just two days away I wonder what team they will name with all the injuries and doubtful players. So far Starc and Hazlewood out with Green also doubtful. Won't name him as a bowler I have heard but others are saying if they won't name him as a bowler then they won't pick him at all, they'll put in a specialist batsman.

We could have a line up like this:

Warner
Khawaja
Labuschagne
Smith
Head
Renshaw
Carey
Cummins
Lyon
Swepson or Agar
Boland

Not great but India also have Pant and Bumrah out so that helps.

Without knowing much about the pitch can we play two spinners without Green?

Agar can't play, he his hot garbage. As I've said before, his first class bowling average is 42. How on earth he gets picked in the squad is beyond me.

I don't know HB, but traditionally the wickets in India turn so I think they do want to play 2 spinners.

I agree about Agar but you watch him get a start. :)

I've read a few opinions that India are likely to produce a competitive wicket for Test 1 and then other wickets through the series could be influenced by how successful India has been up until that point.

Also was reading last night that the Nagpur pitch is low and slow at this time of year, so the previous theory might be thrown out the window by elements outside of the curator's control.

If the pitch is a rank turner, like some are now suggesting it will be, you don't really need bowlers who are big spinners of the ball.

Agar could be a good choice because he turns it the other way. And he might score some handy runs too.

You've probably already read the accounts of Smith and Warner's thoughts on the pitch after they got to have a look. There's already a big rough patch that they think will give our left hand batters some headaches.

Can't say I know a lot about him but he seriously can't be worse that Agar.

Depends on if we use Renshaw at 6 again or not. If not then we’re probably going to need an allrounder to replace Green alongside Murphy. I know Agar sucked in Sydney but this pitch should give him a better chance to turn it the other way, and also very importantly, Agar can bat.

If Green’s out and Renshaw doesnt bat 6, they’ll probably pick both Agar and Murphy.

Confirmed. Todd Murphy making his debut.

Word is Handscomb in for Green. Wrong move in my opinion if correct. Would much prefer Renshaw.

And we've won the toss and will bat!

Travis Head not playing. :(

Been waiting for this all day (month probably more accurate).

Hopefully we can post a big total.

Well I thought Head had to be injured not to play. Comments online suggesting he's been dropped. Pure madness if that is the case.
