I hate Warner with a passion but he was good early on in the series when it counted.

Smith has been poor for a while now, averaging 37 since 2019.

Looked to me like the Poms didn't want to be here. That capitulation last night was embarrassing to watch.
Yep, the NZlanders worked him out with the short ball and having a short leg/leg slip and he doesn't like it. The Poms have made it even worse for him - Wood at 150kmhr banged in short gives him no time at all.

Smith always seemed to get an extraordinary amount of luck, even when in his best form. I started to think that he was just one of those rare freaks who'd stay lucky forever.
Maybe things are swinging back the other way a little.

Interesting stat during the telecast that Lasagne has the most luck out of any batsmen. That will also change at some point.

Cummins, Starc, Hazelwood, Boland, Richardson, Neser, Beherendorff, Bird, plus an allrounder in Green bowling gems. I know I’ve missed a few. The depth Australia has in fast bowling is ungodly.

Our batting stocks on the other hand……

Should have kept the Poms out here for the ODI's so we can give them a shalacking in limited overs cricket as well (even though they are meant to be one of the top T20/ODI teams not that long ago)

Yeah I actually liked the old traditional One day series after the test series, even the old tri-series with a blow in random team joining the fray from Sri Lanka or New Zealand or something LOL.

Stupid pandemic.

Or Australia A :p

Used to love the Triangular series growing up even if one of the teams was nearly always a complete push over and just there for laughs and a paycheck the other usually could mount some sort of fight and Australia didn't win it every year (usually did though)

Limited Overs cricket doesn't hold much weight or interest for me now though unless it's the ODI World Cup

It's kinda weird that we can host a big cricket game at the SCG for instance during a pandemic of Omicron proportions but NZ are worried about quarantine process around couple of vaccinated and bubble isolated Kiwi cricketers on the return trip to Sheepsville. I bet you there are more risky things happening in NZ contributing to the spread of Covid (NZ have 800 odd cases through Jan)

Double hat trick to Cameron Boyce in today’s BBL. A wicket off the last ball of the over and three in a row to start his next.

Only 20/20 I know but still a hell of an effort.
