Funny thing is, their second string attack looked dangerous yesterday.

Our attack is way too dimensional.

Only 3 LBW’s for Australia this series, that’s an issue.

Yep.

There are only 4 players worthy of playing for Australia atm. Smith, Lasagne, Cummins and Hazlewood.

I'm OK with Green as he will be a star.

The rest are very, very mediocre.

Will Pucovski is worth another chance. I think Nathan Lyon is our best spinner right now so he stays. Starc however, well, the young bowling talent that’s waiting in the wings can’t wait forever and Starc’s form should be putting his spot in question.

Paine I think needs to finish up soon. I’m not sure how Alex Carey’s Shield form is (I don’t give a flying donkey’s brown arse about his Big Bash form, that league is a joke and not worth a second of my attention) But I’d say he’d be next in line yeah. I don’t know who gets the captaincy, I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with Smith getting it again.

He doesn’t deserve it but I’d say Warner goes to South Africa if he’s given enough time to rehab his groin properly. Mainly because there’s literally nobody else who’s good enough to open with Pucovski. Like.....nobody. What a sad state of affairs.

I think I'm one of the few that wasn't super impressed with Pucovski last Test. He definitely deserves some more chances but I thought the hype was well over the top. Could have easily been out three times.

Despite his record I think Lyon is very average. Problem is there isn't another spinner knocking on the door.

Aussie cricket is in a bad place atm I reckon. I don't see good times ahead for a few years.

And I didn't like what I saw from Hazlewood earlier. Hit Pujara in the head with a bouncer. Rather than asking if he was OK, like all bowlers do, he said aggressively "see that one"?

Very poor sportmanship imo. Petulant.

We’re bad losers. It’s embarrassing, but nothing new for this country.

India deserve this. Needs to be mass changes for Australia after this. Get rid of Langer & Paine, plus a few others!

I thought I’d be mad but no, that is seriously one of their greatest wins ever. Remarkable performance. Actually happy for Rahane, he won’t get the gig full time but at least he’ll always have this. Pant might be an annoying **** but my god is he talented and has ice in his veins, what a player.

I’m mad because we were so bad with no strategy it seemed. Completely outplayed, out captained and out coached. All on our own patch and against a severely understrength Indian team.

India thoroughly deserve this win.

I’d like to think heads will roll for this but somehow I doubt it. The same squad will probably be picked for the Saffas tour.

I tend to agree mate. After all they did pick Joe Burns for the first two tests

100% agree with this.

Congratulations to the Indians, unbelievably impressive especially with their injury toll. They used 20 players which is insane in a 4 Test series.

Watto would bring that number up.... against us....

The haze man has been seriously fired up lately, if you won games for intimidating bowling and injuring opponents batsmen we would have cleaned sweeped this series, but for all the faux aggression we have been left with nothing. this team do not know how to bowl out a quality opposition or close out a game. wrong bowling and bad captaincy against some seriously impressive and stubborn indian batsman

We’re bad losers. It’s embarrassing, but nothing new for this country.

it's a bit different when you are a gun once in a generation team the likes of which we had under border, Waugh ect but we arn't backing up our arrogance anymore. sense of entitlement that because we are the aussie cricket team we should automatically be winning series and on top of the ladders just for turning up.

our arrogance has gotten cringy. we really could take a leaf out of the indians book who have been far more reserved and humble and focused on the task at hand

wait wtf the weather actually held off long enough and India ended up getting the win? wow that's mega. happy for them, well deserved be by far the better team this series bar a few bad innings

I'm always happy to see a team chase down a 4th innings total. ****s me how teams are never given a chance by commentators if they are batting last chasing a decent score as if it was a foregone conclusion they will lose or at best draw the game if they can hang around for a day or so. sure against inferior opposition that kinda made logical sense but not against this Indian team. we got schooled on tactics, mentality and determination and skill as well. that's ok if you learn from it but I doubt we do

I have never liked the notion that batting first and having a 4th inning lead means you won't lose the game. makes things too predictable, especially at the toss which the winner of nearly always elects to bat first. good to see a side punished for batting first and not finishing the job. I almost wanted the Indians to chase down that total at the SCG as well and they were on track at one stage.

these pitches have held up better over 5 days than in past seasons IMO. not the crack fest of past with a stack of movement so batting well and building a good innings is possible if you apply yourself on the 5th day and the bowlers and captain really need to be more creative to get the 10 wickets

Rahane has still not lost a game as captain, they are nuts if they give it back to Kohli, they should just let him focus on his batting and perhaps make him vice cap but it's political as **** in indian cricket (like aus but worse) so Kohli will prob get the C back even if it's not necessarily the best call

as for Pant, yea but Wade made fun of his weight.... maybe we need some classic short tubby ****s back in this team instead of Instagram posting pretty boys

100% agree with this.

they have earned massive respect in this series especially away from home on pitches the opposite of what they grow up on. they are more likeable than these aussie ****s as well. If I am an Indian I would be proud as **** of my team and the experience their newcomers gained and confidence from a series win will be invaluable in the long run

Yeah that's the other impressive thing about the Indians' win, Gards, they lost every bloody toss. That's a massive disadvantage.

Who I’m pretty sure outscored Warner for the series funnily enough. Both placed two tests.

That’s quite sad. Although also a relatively small sample size, Warner was starting to hit some form in his last knock.

Our selectors have shown that they don’t necessarily pick based on form, so I expect no changes and blind loyalty from Langer

Cricket Australia has issued a staunch defence of Tim Paine after retaining the incumbent Test captain for the tour of South Africa, as Matthew Wade paid the price for his poor series against India.

Test squad: Tim Paine (c), Pat Cummins, Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Michael Neser, James Pattinson, Will Pucovski, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Mark Steketee, Mitchell Swepson, David Warner.

Good call re Wade, had to be dropped. Only has himself to blame.

Just watching the England v India Test.

If you get a chance take a look at English spinner Dom Bess and tell me who he’s modelled his bowling style on?
