I think it will be hard for him this week, I reckon he'll be trying hard to impress. Also being in and out of the team this year probably wont help his cause either.

I don't think he will be a star on saturday but IMO he will have no trouble leading the team around.

I have a question for you Josh, do you think the sharks coaching staff want him to lead us around next yr or more to be our star?. Same for the supporters, i get the feeling most supporters think he is going to star for us, i am not saying he is crap.
I am happy to have him on board but i dont think he is all the hype people make him out to be, i know he is only 19 but i think he is more of a player that will steer us around the park w/ a sound kicking game than a player other teams are going to crap themselves over.

Righto fella's lets go on record now, i know its only one game so i am happy to stand corrected but I reckon Wade Graham wont cause us much problems this week. I am yet to be convinced he is worth all the hype & excitement most of this forum seems to be on about. I will yell & support him next yr like the best of them but i still cant see him changing or bettering our attack to much. I realize it comes down to other players in our team so its going to be hard to judge him alone but lets all have our opinions about Wade up against his team for 2011, is he gunna cause us problems? I say a BIG NO.

I have a feeling you may be in for a surprise, Bundy.

He'll have one of the game's best forward packs(especially if Fa'alogo comes here) to work with and if we do get that certain Englishman as halfback for 2012 I believe WG will carve up for us long term.

Tbh, I don't expect everything to click straight away but give it time, he will do great things for us.

The only half IMO we have that could be a star and has the X-FACTOR is Kelly, but his development was set back a season minimum by Ricky and now there are rumours of poor attitude so he could go either way.

mmmmm I wouldnt be expecting anything big from graham, straight off. Barrett will be a huge loss, now you will have an un reliable kicking game and will be lacking general direction. If you think smith and graham together will get the side winning you have buckleys.

i dont rate smith nor graham, im pretty suprised you guys didnt try and replace barrett with someone decent, its a shame, the sharks have a possible premiership winning foward pack and a crafty little hooker in aiton and an awesome leader in Gal.
If the sharks were to get some fast, skillful outside backs and a dominant half i would deffinately rate u guys a top 4 spot.

I think you are overrating Barrett abit. I completely agree with you about the direction. That is a major risk. But Barrett's kicking game, other than the occasional 40/20 has been very unreliable.

Panthers' Wade Graham faces his future club the Cronulla Sharks
2 Sep 10 @ 03:40pm
by CHRIS GEORGAKOPOULOS

PANTHERS youngster Wade Graham will make a welcome return to face future club the Cronulla Sharks at CUA Stadium on Saturday.

Graham will replace injured halfback Luke Walsh, who limped from the field in Penrith’s 24-18 win over the Bulldogs on Monday.

“Obviously five-eighth is my preferred position but I don’t mind filling in there at half,” Graham said.

“If Matt (Elliott) needs me to play there I will go out there and do what he has planned.”

The 19-year-old has played for the Panthers’ Toyota Cup squad in recent weeks.

Graham is looking forward to a return to NRL action.

“I’m going to go out there and do everything I can to impress,” he said.

“It may be my last game in a Penrith jersey in first grade at home, so that’s the way I’m going to treat it.

“I’m pretty happy to be back in the team and keen to get out there and play some good footy.”

Graham will be looking to impress Sharks coach Stuart Flanagan tomorrow.

But the playmaker maintains he is a Panther until season’s end.

“To me next year is next year and I am 100 per cent committed to the Panthers this year,” Graham said.

“My time with them will come in about November when I become a Shark. But until then I am a Panther and they are my opposition.”

Penrith may welcome back Walsh in week one of the finals after he was cleared of any fracture to his ankle.

But captain Petero Civoniceva will not return until week two of the finals.

The front-rower took the early guilty plea for a reckless high tackle that saw him sent off against the Bulldogs.

i went to get mrs snow some food last night and i bumped into him.
he was with another penrith player we tried to sign.

anyways, was in a sharks jumper and had a chat to him.
he said he was offered double to go to north queensland and play alongside thurston, but chose us as he wants to lead a team around the park.
when i asked him which player he is looking forward to playing with he replied "it will be great not to get hit by paul gallen and jeremy smith again".

he had nothing but high praise for our club, and said he wont accept not making the 8 next year.
im looking forward to having himon board
