This is where a roosters or manly would ensure a medical retirement so they don’t waste 2 years of cap.

TBF, I think This is where the NRL should get involved around a medical retirement to ensure the health (future health) and well-being of the player.

Both Friend and Cordner had extended periods out to recover/think about where to next. This is what Wade is doing now. I'm very happy for him to take the year to work out what is best for him and to have a plan for the future.

If he gets another bad one he is probably done.

Is Wade up in the bubble? may be able to help us out in the halves with being down on quality
players.

This bloke getting back to his best next year would feel like a new signing and be a massive boost.

Unfortunately I just can't see it happening for some reason. Hopefully the addition of two bona-fide leaders will help him.

Should he be named as Captain next year ?
Love the dude but never felt like a capable captain as it is.

I don’t think the new rules have helped his game, along with the constant injury setbacks he has suffered obviously

No.. needs a big reset. Let him come back into the team like he’s a nobody. Have a leadership group but I wouldn’t make him the captain again - especially without Flanagan driving him

Agree , rest , come back next refreshed with nil added responsibilities.
That's would be the best way to attempt to regain his form again

I'm happy with him being captain as the support around him will be incredible through Dale and Cam. It's the injuries more than the pressure that have let him down. I have a gut feeling he won't last the year.

I’d leave him as captain but name Dale Finucane and maybe McInnes as his deputies. I think Wade’s captaincy suffered with not a lot of leadership around to help him the past two years. He’s not like Gal who can command a team on his own back, Wade needed some help to grow into the role and as it turned out he didn’t really get it and it hurt his football, never mind the absolute bad luck he’s had with head injuries.

If he’s fit next year and with help around him I reckon you’ll see a far better Wade.

I hope so mate .
Although watching him behind the posts after we were scored against wasn't inspiring ( perhaps because he was to blame sometimes ) also his captains challenges weren't to spot on 80% of the time.
Just want to see him get back to his Very Best and not sure he really needs to be Captain in case it railroads this.
It would be worse to strip him of it during the season if he starts off playing crap again ( let alone dropping him )

Possibly. I think he deserves a chance to show he can do it with the proper support though.

I'd go co-captains, have Wade do the off field stuff and then either Finucane or McInnes more involved on field, with it defaulting to Wade when they are off.

Sounds very similar to feelings surrounding Bomber. If Wade is good to go & wants I agree.

Appoint a ready deputy though cause unfortunately I don't think Wade is far off being a member of The Boyd Cordner Brain Injury Recovery Institu ... what was I saying? Oh, dinner time again we put the ****en .. in the glovebox behind the ...
