I’m all for making rudolph the starting lock. He was struggling to breath when he came back two months ago, but matched the intensity through the finals. I reckon he’ll be fit as and ready to step up rnd 1. This beast can tighten up our middle for sure.

Very presumptuous to throw Toby straight into the 13 jersey. Bench IMO. They’ve been grooming Williams for the spot, back him and give him first crack. Don’t rush Toby. Give him 20 or so off the bench to start with and ease him into it, whether it’s prop or giving Jack a spell at lock. It will pay off in the long run for Toby. If he’s good enough and proves he’s better than Jack, then give him the spot down the line.

Throw Billy into the mix and lets have a good old fashioned pre-season lock-off

I personally think Toby will be fine to start come round one.

And your basing that off 6 reserve grade appearances?

Makes no sense to rush him into such a key role when we don’t need too.

He was also very good in the Q cup the season before. Won MOM in their grand final win and has now done so for the Jets. That would indicate to me that he is ready...

To say he is more ready for a starting spot than Williams isn’t actually outlandish

yeh he has played in 3 finals in 2 seasons and have 2 motm awards

not outlandish to say he could be thrust into that gallen role

The good thing about these up and coming players (Toby, Billy, Ronaldo etc) is that they know what it takes to win Grand Finals and close games. They have to be carrying a great deal of confidence after the year they had.

I fully understand that it was not the NRL, but injecting a few of these guys into first grade can only be good in helping develop and maintaining a winning culture in our club.

Bring a lot of effort too which we need to rub off on a few of our senior players like Prior who had a low output season, and Fifita & Woods at times also

So with Prior leaving we'll definitely be seeing quite a bit of Frudolph in first grade next year. Exciting times.

Agreed HB.

I haven't seen much of him but what I've seen has really impressed me.

Looks every inch a first grader.

Might spur Woods and other guys to pull their finger out.
