Official Toby Rudolf

He confirms he’s staying for one more year too so that’s good

Hopefully we see him before the finals

We were so close to having all our props available too.

Missed it by that much

I blame Hazelton and his stiff back. Sook could have played last week and we would have done it !

In presser Fitz said Toby is coming back, and just had a week off.
Didn't definitively spell out he'll be named (somewhere) this week, but sounded to me like that is what he was expecting.

With Sifa out, could see Toby pop up on the bench.

Start two of AFB, Colquhoun, Hazelton and Kaufusi and play the other two off the bench.
Burns as a lock.
Leaves a spot in case we get any injuries but Rudolf could get a run.
(round out the bench with Hohepa who could also get a run and cover for backs we *knocks on wood* won't need)

I think Hohepa is pretty much a lock (pardon the pun) for replacing Sifa

Wouldn't shock me at all, but I don't think he is being brought on before two of the four or Burns

If we look back a few games (skip last weekend with injuries, and weekend before with Pep HIA failed) you have Tuks playing 13-19 mins three game straight, and two games before that, a forward (Pep, Oregon) playing 16.

So I could definitely see Toby getting those minutes late, if all has gone to plan and he is good to go. Or depending on how game is going, Pep definitely could.

I reckon if Rudolf comes back it will be with the Jets. He didn't make it through the game last time. Needs to do that before he is ready to be picked in the NRL. Uele or Tuks come in as the extra prop next week. Pep is obviously in the 19 but anyone's guess as to whether he or the other prop gets minutes.

No Sifa on the bench means they probably bring outside back cover into the 19 (Jones, Stonetreet, Vea'ila or Gabrael). I'd go with Jones or Vea'ila because they each cover more than one position, but don't feel strongly enough about that to argue against one of the others being there.

Yeah probably right, given they've had to give him a bit more of a break.
Could still drip feed him a little NRL as the low minute guy, if he is considered good to play, but probably won't

They could but it's not really necessary. Maybe if they had a few more injuries and it was a choice between Toby and having to debut a guy you do it. I don't think you lose a whole lot in a 10 minute stint by having a healthy Tuks instead of Toby at 85%.

Once Toby starts and finishes a Jets game with no issues (or if it's for the GF) bring him back in.

Dont change a winning formula, especially if it involves bringing in a cream puff of a forward with hands that rival the frying pans of Bronson Xerri and Jack Williams

For sure. There's really no rush to get him back in the starting side atm

I don't know whether you're serious or joking half the time. But if you're serious you had better think again. Toby had been one of our better forwards before he got injured and I'd dare you to go down to the sheds and call him a cream puff of a forward. You're also way wrong about his handling skills...

He's a cream puff and should go the way of the cream puff store in chinatown i.e. out of business. Not NRL quality (or at least Sharks NRL quality) im sure he'd fit in fine in a sea of mediocre forwards at like the dragons or tigers. There is only one player worse than Toby, and thats Alex Seyfarth

Did Toby sleep with your sister or something?
