He's said he recruited a manager after his Bennett blunderWonder if he is still representing himself or if he has recruited a manager.
Ahh. Are you referring the Haasgate Incident? He's said he recruited a manager after his Bennett blunder
Funny how Fitz is able to do that in a position we have depth but doesn't just drop left, right and (right) centre at the the drop of a hat and just hook halves for a couple of mistakes
Bloody oath he does, sort of the point I was trying raise the other day.Ramien makes mistakes on the regular but Fitz might have no issue with his overall effort and attitude so keeps him in the team. I don't agree with that necessarily as a player still needs to perform and not be a liability. Ramien has cost us games in the past and kept his spot despite us having players like Hiroti as depth who isn't a penalty magnet
It took Flanno years to drop Pomeroy, a bloke that couldn't even catch and pass a ball
I think you just accept that that is a part of Jessie’s game sometimes. A couple of weeks in reserve grade isn’t going to change it. I guess the coach takes the good with the bad and must believe the good outweighs the bad.Bloody oath he does, sort of the point I was trying raise the other day.
I realise you have to have players outside the team playing well to take or be presented an opportunity.
I wouldn’t drop a player for a mistake here or there but if you have a bloke who has or is making the same mistakes, maybe not on a weekly basis but regularly over 150 games, when is it reasonable to think, the penny’s not dropping for this guy, he might be due for a spell in NSS Cup?
Obviously, the ‘I’m gunna back you to come good’ approach hasn’t eradicated the repeat same mistakes, unless of course, you measure it as success by it only happens over the course of every season 4-5 times.
I’m not talking drop balls, just about every player drops a few balls over the course of a season, I’m talking about the dumb s%*t that generally filters out of a player 40-50 games in.
In the absence of a better option.I think you just accept that that is a part of Jessie’s game sometimes. A couple of weeks in reserve grade isn’t going to change it. I guess the coach takes the good with the bad and must believe the good outweighs the bad.
Exactly. If there was someone who did everything as good as Jesse without the bad I’m pretty sure they would get the gig. Every player has their strengths and weaknesses. In the absence of a better option.
This is probably a bit unfair on Vea'ila. He has been fit all season but sat out as NRL 19th man and spent time on the wing in Cup. He'd be a top 5 NSW Cup centre but is suffering a bit from his own versatility at the moment. We dont have centres lighting the world on fire at cup level at the moment, and when they string a few good games together they get injured
The way he is playing since coming into the starting side it would be hard to not lock him up for another couple of years, good output for value.. when he’s dialed in
Dropped is as the clock just ticked over 20 mins. ShockCan't help but feel Fitz let him down by leaving him on so long in his first stint
You were just waiting for it. Could see it coming a mile away. Just like the AFB dropped ball against the Dolphins.Dropped is as the clock just ticked over 20 mins. Shock

No idea why they play the starters for so longThen left him on for another 10 minutes
A bit of a run of possession into a try and then he played a couple mins after the try. The last sort of 5 mins of being on I don’t think he was getting too overworkedThen left him on for another 10 minutes
I think we need tobys play the ball speed to start. Either toby or oregon to balance out afb who can be a tad slow at times. I reckon 20 minutes max for toby and replace him with oregon and use hazelton for AFB. Gives hazelton 25 mins to go full tiltA bit of a run of possession into a try and then he played a couple mins after the try. The last sort of 5 mins of being on I don’t think he was getting too overworked
But I don’t think we need to get every drop out of Toby as a starter just because ‘maybe’ we can. I’m a fan of getting at least one set of fresher legs out there a bit earlier. Of Tommy can start he can come on around 20/25 and see out the half
