Official Thomas Hazelton

Impact means nothing when we are leaking 30 points a game on average.
Thats true, and leaks can come from anywhere on the field. Aswell as impact and speeding up the middle, JC and Mcinnis can also clean up and tighten up defense in the middle coming off the bench. Keeps us rolling or helps us win back momentum instead of slower big men trying to keep up

Despite some fair questions being raised about his ability and impact as a prop in 2026 NRL the bloke copped like 3 injuries and wacks in 10 minutes but still put in a good shift

Kept turning up for work, 35 mins but made more carries than any other Sharks forward and just the 1 missed tackle

It's actually good numbers. Not saying he was great for us or that his carries are brilliant, just I respected his effort

I feel the way the game will be referreed for the remainder of the season will determine if guys like Hazo can survive in the years to come.

There has been a noticeable drop off in six agains and penalties over the last week compared to the first two months of the season.

If it stays this way, Tom (and others of his size) have a chance. If they go back to Vlandyball, I am worried we wont see much of these bigger guys after this year.

The 6 man bench will help protect some, you just can't carry as many as before, and they may sit some games.
All going well you use your extra big boy in the second half, if there were any early injuries you use that sub on a positional replacement or a smaller bigger minute forward.

Hazelton has a lot of plod compared to what the speed of the game is asking for at the moment, but could be a damaging 20-30 minute XXL body in the second half when he is fresh running at tired bodies.

Agree, that's a long way from him playing 50 mins as a starting prop though (that he was building towards). Sign of the times unfortunately.

I thought of a good one for PVL the other day - quick drop outs.
Can do it as soon as all your players are in the in-goal.

Can take short ones quick to try get them back, or pound it deep and hope it rolls on before they get players back there.
Maybe even quickly drop-kick it into someone trying to get back onside still.
As an extra level of ridiculousness, maybe allow them to be taken from anywhere along tryline.

The kind of quick chaos he'd enjoy!

I like this one. As soon as everyone is back in goal kick it

Quick drop outs are allowed when everyone's onside. Teams just don't do it so they can set up to contest for the ball or have a 30 second break to get their breath back if it doesn't go well
