I still remember some of my favourite days growing up:

1. Played on a Saturday for Engadine Dragons
2. Go straight to Shark Park (still in footy gear) for the 3pm Saturday game
3. Play footy on the hill during the game
4. Run on the field after the game. Pat Docking, Miller, ET etc on the back then play more footy under the goal posts.

You sound like you're a similar vintage to me mate, I remember those days as well.

We had seats in the PB Stand. After the game Dad and his mates would be in the Summertime Bar whilst us kids would be roaming the ground pretending to be Sludge mostly.

64 here.
I never went as a young kid, more when I was in my early teens. Around 75-79. My Dad followed the Sharks but he hated going anywhere and he just couldn't be bothered driving out to Shark Park with me from Engadine, so I went with family friends who had season tickets in the Peter Burns stand.
Huge wins against Newcastle in the past. I think one was 64 to nil
64-14.

Random Sharks history link of the day 🤣...

Will Kennedy's dad (Balmain) playing Craig Fitzgibbon, and taking an intercept off Trent Barrett, with a try to Laloa Milford (16:25 in):

Also a try at 19:56.
Got similar faces father and son

This was a massive thing at the time, I remember thinking a GF was pretty much a sure thing.
We may have gone closer that year had Sludge not been knocked out by Mark Budgen early on. I think it was actually the first game of the season and Sludge last only about 5 to 10 minutes. After coming back from his two year stint at the Dragons, Gibson moved him into lock during pre-season and he was looking the goods.

So sad that we lost Steve Rogers only a few years later.
Taken To early!
I remember the game when Matt was about to break his Dads points record.

They were interviewing Steve about his record and he joked that he might tell the coach to bring Matt off as he looks a bit injured. He was also quick to state that converted trys were worth less back in his time.

RIP Steve Rogers.
