We are looking to create a Cronulla division of The Spider Cup, a NRL fantasy football league that features prize money, trophies, and promotions and relegations and gives you the chance to prove that you a more knowledgeable than your friends/frienemies about NRL. This year we expanded to three divisions. Next year we will be starting a Newcastle Division and we will have Liam Fulton trying to overcome his multiple concussions to climb his way out of third division. Also, this format is so much better than supercoach or dreamteam. You have your salary cap, but once a player is recruited to your team, they are yours (unless you trade them). The scores are live. If any of you have played Nearly Sport, we use them for our comps. We also have a tipping comp and monthly member draws. There is also a champions league which includes the best from all divisions, which has a live draft at the beginning of the seasons. The live draft is usually a big night. At the end of the season we have a presentation for our champions, which usually includes a bar tab.

If you are receiving this email you have either expressed interest in playing fantasy NRL and tipping or you are an existing player.
In either case, welcome to season 2015. This email is to advise you of everything you need to do for season 2015.
Firstly, if you no longer wish to be a part of Spider Nation, please drop me an email so I can organise for someone to take your spot in the fantasy leagues.
For the rest of you, follow the instructions below.
1. Go to www.spider-nation.com and register your details so that I have them on file,
2. Next click on ‘2015 membership’ on the Membership page to pay your annual fee of $100. You have until the 31st of January to make your payment or your place in a division cannot be guaranteed,
3. Click on the ‘Prizes’ page to check out all the great prizes on offer this year,
4. Invite your friends. You will get a $20 rebate on your membership for every person you refer that becomes a paying member. The more the merrier.
Prizes on offer
1. $50 will be given away each month in our lucky member badge draw. In months where there is a live event occurring, the draw will take place at the live event. All other draws will take place on the last day of the month.
2. As in years before, prize money will be awarded to the top three teams in each fantasy NRL division but with the entry fee being standardised this year, the prizes will be the same across each 14 team division.
3. For those joining in on the NRL tipping this year there will be a weekly prize of $25 as well as prize money for the top three teams at the end of the regular season.
4. For those who have qualified for Champions League, this year’s prize will be in the form of tickets to an event chosen from a list provided at season’s end. Check out the Prize page for more information.

Two days until registration closes for The Spider Cup. It doesn't look like we will get a Cronulla division off the ground this year, but 4th division still has spots available. 3rd and 4th division will have 8 relegations and 8 promotions respectively. There are currently only two promotions from 2nd to the prestigious 1st division. The champions league will consist of the top teams from each division, plus last year's champions league winner. Join us in the greatest fantasy football competition of all time, "The Spider Cup".
The Spider Cup will be expanding again next year. We are running six competitions this year and are now an official sponsor of Nearly Sport. Our Newcastle Division had it's first year with a resounding success and our Champions League has been the strongest competition so far. We are hoping that our 3 x champion, The Dunphy St Doodles do not win First Division again, as we will never hear the end of it. We also run a free competition for those who want to try before they buy, however, you will be exempt from the Lucky Members Badge draw and other benefits. This is the first year we have had a prize for Champions League, which you can only qualify for if you do well in your division, which is two tickets to the NRL GF, State of Origin, etc. If any of you are interested, go to the Nearly Sport website and click on the Spider Nation badge on the front page and register your interest. You will receive an email in the new year inviting you to join a division. Hope to see you all next year.
