Capewell set to join the Warriors immediately, in addition to Jackson Ford re-signing. You'd think that would make Papalii, Su'a and Kikau all surplus to their requirements now. Hopefully Capewell's signing eases some pressure on the release of AFB.
You can use IPap as a middle but you’d think that’s less attractive for him to accept the move.
Less attractive for all three you mention to want to move from clear starter to have to fight for a spot also, but less interesting to Warriors too.

Yeah a lot of money locked up long term on a front rower and and edge back rower.

Is there info on the finer details, as currently he is contracted 24 and 25 for reported 650k (probably 770 now, ratchet).
Could it be +8 years (10 years total), total value 8 million. Which is 800k per season contract?
Or +6 years (8 years total), total value 8 million. 1 million per season contract?

Presumably it's not two current years unchanged then 8 years on a million a year afterwards.

Either option of 10 years takes him to 35 end of that season. Would make more sense if 8 includes the current 2, takes him to 33 instead.

Either way gives him 3 years crossover with Jurbo @ 950k (1.12 ratchet) and 4 years cross over with Schuster @ 800k (945 ratchet)

You would think they'd have learned from the cowboy's JT deal.
Although I suppose a rule change with huge impacts on an edge forward's performances isn't very likely.

Surely any bottom clubs should be swarming over any promising juniors they have. Between the two trbojevic bohs, dce, schuster and now ola that is a lot of big money contracts.

Nothing as of yet. But I believe he’s been upgraded for the next 2 years to 1 mil a season then extended 6 years past that on the same $$.

Nope. He’s off contract end of this season so they get nothing. ****ing idiots 😂😂

Morons, if they're trying to save coin for Luai they should atleast be trying to follow our model and get a promising junior back in return.

Storm probably to smart too give up any genuine prospects in fairness

The swap deal with Olam was done. Storm though wanted it fast tracked before Christmas and the tigers were happy to wait until the new year. Storm then said **** ya cya later, deals off. Then signed the same player they wanted but 12 months later.

They’ve released Lawton I believe which frees up 300k which they’ll then give to Ola’Kuata

I have no doubt they can find a way to afford it. I don’t even think it’s that bad a contract. Just it’s tricky to juggle cap with three big money forwards and a star spine player.
Biggest issue is Schuster unless he actually starts contributing somewhere near his pay grade.

Lawton only played 10 games so he’s fairly expendable for a min wage player, but was a good bench option. They might go to Kum on bench anyway.

The Ridge!
So, is there a time frame on when a decision on AFB is made or is it going to be one of those long drawn out circuses?
