Must be on track to break a record for the most NRL clubs a player has played at.

Edit - will break record of 5 jointly held by himself, Willie Mason and Michael Ennis

I’d love to get him even if it was until the end of this season….
Nicho/hunt halves combo would instantly elevate us into premiership contention
Like with Cleary in SOO I think Nicho would also be happy to tone back his current game to partner with a guy like Hunt - two years playing with him learning a lot of halfback and NRL game managing.

Similarly Hunt playing hooker in SOO even though it’s not his preferred position. Think he’d be happy to not try and dominantly run the show and work with Nicho

Roosters join the race for Ben Hunt. Only fair that they don’t re sign Lodge whose on 300k and sign a 1 million dollar player.

Kidding aside - This says to me though that Walker is gone, along with Keary. Could be looking at a Hunt/Manu halves pairing for next year.

The maths checks out

I think they'd try keep Keary though - him plus Hunt is a pretty gun pairing. Manu I'm not as sold on at 5/8 after recent performances.
I'd almost go Sandon over Manu, haven't seen to much of him but I just think Manu is a bit too run first for a 5/8 these days.

Still I think the Dragons should still squeeze for some releases from anyone they are releasing him too. If he was going to the roosters I'd probably suggest Moylan and Hunt get released by us to facilitate it, which is how it would work as I have been lead to believe.

I think whoever Dragons release him to also they should target getting back a young spine player to compete with their crew and a middle, plus probably use money to try and target another middle somewhere too. Failing suitable try get some youngsters but I think if they are gunna have Sloan, Amone, Sullivan, Liddle (and maybe Ramsey) they need a couple guys to throw in to compete for these spots plus middles to lay a better platform. They have some okay edges and outside backs so think that is lower priority.

If Sharks were interested and could scrounge up the cash and I'm Flanno I'm demanding release of Trindall, Hazelton* and maybe Tracey or Atkinson. Then pursuing another middle elsewhere... ideally a good player stuck behind some others to bribe him to get release but otherwise there are okay guys like Bullemor, Greig, Sele, Knight, Lodge, Thompson available (last two obviously have some ???).
*to the pleasure of some here I could see us negotiating that to Royce Hunt as he'd free up more money for us to afford it

1 Sloan/Ramsay
2 Feagai/Moga
3 Suli
4 Lomax
5 Ravalawa/Feagai
6 Amone/Sullivan/Atkinson
7 Trindall/Sullivan
8 Lawrie
9 Berrell/Liddle
10 New prop/Molo
11 Bird
12 Sua
13 De Belin

14 Liddle/Berrell/Sullivan
15 Molo/new prop
16 Couchman
17 Hazleton/Hunt

Assuming something good comes from competition for spots you should be able to lay a decent platform for young spine to do their best with.

Any money you can't spend well frontload to look for who is off contract 2025 - long list at the moment so plenty of people to talk to once you know where you need to sure things up

I'm probably the biggest Ben Hunt fan outside of his immediate family... and I'm only making that trade if he promises to shave his head and wear a headband.

If it doesn't seem like a tough trade from our perspective it probably isn't a realistic ask.
Unfortunately I don't think an off-contract Wade Graham is an offer that would get this done.

While I think we have seen enough from RHunt that there is something there if he can consistently keep his form trending in the right direction I think in this instance he would be a good let go in that we free up more money to actually afford BHunt but he also provides the size in the middle still I think their young spine will desperately need.

Yeah. I think the Nut will offer Sharks more over the next 5+ years than we may achieve with Hunt over 1 or two.
