It's a shame when things don't work out like this. I know that Schuster is probably mostly to blame in this so don't think I am defending him but it seems to be a trend of the modern world. Player shows talent, gets loads of money thrown at them and they think they're the bees knees. I am surprised it is not happening more often but I guess it could be at a lower level.

Different sport but I look at my son's 14A cricket team as an example. Many of them have played reps since Under 10s and by the time they are 16 a majority of them will be burnt out. Of the 11 players in his team, I could only pinpoint two of them that I think would make it in professional cricket when they are older, purely based on attitude and willing to roll their sleeves up. The two most talented players in the team I don't think will make it as they go onto the field sometime woefully underdone and just going through the motions. My son has no such rep intentions, just is happy to play cricket each year and do the best he can. Perhaps when he is 18 or 19 and his body has grown and gotten stronger and his mind more mature, he may be ready to have a crack at grade and see what he can do. But I won't push him, it will totally be his decision.

I wish Josh Schuster all the best, I hope he can pick up the pieces but it does look like no club is willing to help at the moment.
