No. It didn’t.

He threw a similar amount of passes.

Normally McInnes plays 55-60 minutes at lock, and Finucane plays 20-25 at lock and 35-40 at prop.

All that changed in that game is that they gave Finucane’s “lock minutes” to Wade and his “prop minutes” to Jack. If you want to argue that those two did a better job than Dale, have at it. That has nothing to do with McInnes though.
For the umteenth time I’m not talking about minutes

Again, I liked McInnes in that role on the weekend at 13 his passing game there was good

the other thing we are ignoring was the fact that another regular was missing, did this have a bigger factor on the game compared to the dale v mcinnes debate.

For the umpteenth time, I am not either. I am talking about his ROLE.

McInnes's ROLE in the team did not change. He didn't play differently, and he didn't throw any more passes than he does most weeks.

You are looking for something that doesn't exist.

They just shared Toby's role via committee, the same as what they did for Finucane.

McInnes, Hunt and BHU --> No change
Toby's job --> Kaufusi + Hazelton
Dale's job --> Wade + WIlliams

To answer your question, I think the Kaufusi + Hazelton combo did as good a job as Toby could have on his own, possibly better.

However, the biggest factor was not who played and who didn't. It was everyone who did play staying healthy and Fitz being able to use his bench as per the plan (rather than having to make changes on the fly and/or have players out there longer than he wanted).

Finucane has a good offload, good defender, shouldn't be playing prop however if we all fit/healthy. Hunt too with the offloads, but he's hit and miss. The Nut has one also, along with obviously MickEnnis ( but see comments RE:Hunt) . Not sure about the Woodsman however. Ideally they all should be offloading, but i'm happy if guys like Rudolph/Eule/Hunt just focus on their Middle stuff ,jobs well- keeping the Ruck solid and metres.

I still can't work out why you constantly refer to Cam McInnes as "MickEnnis." They were nothing like each other. :)

Liam Martin bout to re sign with the Riff for 3 more years.

No way they keep Luai and Edwards now. Ones gotta go. If we hadn’t re signed Kennedy I would be saying to go all in for Edwards.

I love Will Kennedy more than most here but if Edwards was available I'd be very excited. He is one of the reasons Penrith are up there. He does so many little things well.

Apparently he’s getting 500k a year at the riff. He’s very getable imo. He’ll get offers north of 850k if he goes to market.

I think they lowballed Critter so they could afford to keep Edwards. The Cleary's love him.

Yeah, I can't see them struggling to keep either tbh. Both will be extended this off-season, Edwards around 750-800 and Luai for around the same, which he's already on.

They've got most of their salary cap to spend in 2025 which is when they're both off-contract.
With their junior base and the club's success I can't see having too many issues keeping the books balanced.

Edwards will go to Bulldogs
Critta will get moved to centre to accommodate him
