Yeah Carrigan.

I actually though Flegler was one of the best forwards in the comp for the 2 games in 2020 prior to the shutdown. He was playing more minutes, ball-playing, and was an all around beast. Rule change really screwed Seibold's style of play and turned Flegler back in to a battering ram.

Now that the rules have balanced back out again it is not surprising that Siebold wants to get him back.
I remember Flegler flashing some awesome games then seeming to go backwards a bit so that probably explains it

This is actually a really exciting signing. Young half from a good system with good wraps on him. Every chance to be able to come in and claim that 6 jersey when Moylan finishes up.

Is he still flegg eligible next year or will he be playing cup? Any news on the contract?
Would suggest Dykes likely to fully focus on fullback in the short term at least you'd think

Maybe something like T&T with Dev promised if we don't upgrade him and top 30 next year or something. As Burg just said also, need something to pry him away. With Metcalf leaving Jets there is arguably a jersey as one of Dykes/Miller/Trindall likely to be 18th man most weeks.

I agree.

Haven't seen anything re: contract, but you'd have to assume that he wouldn't walk away from a dev/top-30 deal to just be T&T.

Born in 2002, so still Flegg eligible. Played almost half the NSW Cup season for the Panthers last year though, so you'd have to think he is good enough to be with the Jets all year.
Oh of course. You just shared the nsw cup final highlights! Duh.

Yeah amazing. Will be lots of competition for spots between him Miller and Dykes then. Definitely feels like that 5/8 spot is in good hands for a transition from Moylan after this contract.

Maybe something like

1 Dykes
6 Miller
7 Trindall

14 Puru

18 Davies

But as I said one of the first three likely in NRL 18 jersey more weeks than not (hopefully not in the 17 too often unless they've forced their way in).
Does make Miller a bit easier to release if we have this kids tied down for a couple years or more...

Nah - that was the Flegg GF. He didn't play in the Cup GF. He played the week 1 semi which was before the Panther NRL game - so the Panthers held out both Falls and O'Sullivan.

So is Rivett still with us?
For once I actually want to agree with snowy.

I’ve found 3 different sources including the player himself saying his contract was for 3 years. Hasn’t shown up in training photos yet though, and nrl.com and the SMH reckon he is off contract.

Could just be that his contract for 2023 is Flegg/NSWRL so he shows as off contract from an NRL PoV.

He lead the Flegg comp in pointscoring and was front and centre with Kade in all of the Sharks media releases about prospects. He may not be a superstar but it would be an odd move to just dump him when he has a year of Flegg eligibility left.

I’ll ask his mate and see if I get an answer.

keighran off to the super league. We had a sniff but the money he got there was double what we would have offered.

Hope he is, lots of potential.
Also need to keep some Queenslanders. 2016 we had 5 in our GF team and another 4 or 5 in the squad.

Right now we have one Qld-born player (Berrell), plus Trindall and Ronnie. Jets had none, and outside of Rivett there are only a handful in Flegg and SG Ball combined.

Tricky is from Wee Waa so the Queensland allegiance will forever hurt my soul.

He was still playing as a 7 regardless of the the jersey change.
He alternated during games, Hynes can do the same, pick his moments when he wants to be first receiver. Main thing is having an organising 7 to help him.

We've had a organising 7s over the years that drove this forum crazy in the mould of Robson and Townsend. What I think people want is an elite 7, in the mould of Reynolds, Moses or Cleary. I'd absolutely love that too, and I'd be happy for us to throw money at one. But I think Nicho can lead us well enough that a 6 that can kick/sprint will work just as well alongside him. Give me pre-sharks Moylan in that spot any day.
