Very convenient isn’t it.
Makes his gamble to just sign a one year deal look worthwhile if he gets anywhere near those number by making World Cup squad
After the season he's had, he's a genius!

Since re-signing at the beginning of April, scored 13 tries from 19 games at edge backrower, makes the Queensland and Australian teams.

A Sydney club? Or a "Sydney" club?

Call me cynical, but amazing how this offer gets publicised at the end of the World Cup where he can come home and tell to Cowboys to up the ante.
Roosters for sure.

Renouf Atoni set to leave the roosters and sign with Wakefield.

That’s who they must be releasing to sign Nanai.
Wow, was a great pick up by Roosters at the time, just never seemed to get a run there.
Was disappointed we missed out on him at the time

He had a couple injuries I think but even saw some roosters fans wondering why he wasn't getting a run.
Obviously just didn't click with their system for whatever reason. Or maybe being (one of) the best of the **** bulldogs isn't as good as it looks.

Walker obviously has potential and a lot of time to improve, but there is a bit of Reece Walsh about him. Commentators ignore the errors but go bonkers every time he does something good.

Roosters have been sheltering him big-time with Radley. They don't win very often when Radley doesn't play (something like 2 from 9 the last two years when Walker plays but Radley doesn't). It's funny how he left Brisbane because he didn't want to play fullback, but now at the Roosters he is wearing 7 but playing like a fullback in attack anyway.

You'd take him though. At the very least he looks like he is going to be a decent first grade player for a long time, and who knows how good can will be in 3-4 years with 120 NRL games under his belt.

Yeah nah.

I’d love him here at Cronulla alongside Hynes but good luck getting him out of the Roosters.
Personally I don’t really see him pairing well with Hynes in a way that doesn’t take Hynes backwards.
I'd rather spend money to put better platform in front of him and better weapons outside him than to take the ball out of his hands.

He doesn’t need or want to partner with someone who takes over any of his responsibilities and Walker is very much a halfback IMO
And we don’t need a 5/8 who needs to be coddled by a ball playing 13 to succeed, which Walker currently does.
I'm keen to keep the Dally M player of the year in 7 where he wants to play, playing how he wants to play.

Moylan is a good stylistic fit for Hynes. I still would have liked another kick or two from Moylan a game just to spread the kick pressure a little more, this being something I think Moylan could have done where just being better at everything is probably a tall order.

There are a lot of NRL 5/8s I think Hynes could pair well with and Walker isn't one of them.

There is some talk on here about taking pressure off of Hynes more but the possession numbers from last season suggest Walker may struggle to do that

Hynes+Moylan 62+45 = 107
Walker+Keary 49+37 = 86

Given we actually run more 1 pass hitups than Roosters the 'stats' suggest Walker isn't going to do much ball handling to take pressure off of Hynes. That could just be a system thing though, especially if their forwards pass a lot more than ours.

In terms of kicks

Hynes 12
Keary 9
Walker 7
Moylan 3

So he probably could take some kicks off Hynes.

And while he isn't our most popular player currently Kennedy also already does quite a bit of our ballplaying - 2nd of fullbacks for linebreak assists, and well clear of Tedesco (although Teddy is waaayyy better still and makes far more of his own line breaks).
Walker would fit us a bit better if we did move to a more run heavy fullback like Miller.
