Time for Dykes to decide if he wants to debut sooner, or better.

In the list of options for this weekend there would have been a fair gap between 1 Hynes and 1 Dykes but I think that gap gets a lot shorter by 12 months from now.

WK a fair path blocker though
Could see himself a good pathway to first grade by signing with Tigers and subtly dropping a few comments in ear shot of Laurie (yeah just excited to be here, management seemed very keen to get me here and hopeful I can fix up their fullback problem)
Laurie’s form dropped after he got scolded in media for playing pokies at 9pm so I reckon you could whiteant him.
And become the under pressure fullback of a **** team.

To complicate his path here we have Taukamo coming into our top 30 next year too.
At one stage this season we had amongst the best NRL*, Cup, Flegg and HM fullbacks

*Kennedy was amongst the best on form, still a few others with much higher ceilings
Yeah I would have thought that even with a dip in form, Laurie is first choice and he's stuck in Cup (obviously with him injured if he was to move now he could get some game time). Laurie off contract next year, so maybe they're looking for a back up in case he goes somewhere else? Or someone to pressure him to lift his game?

Not sure I can see it ending with Dykes getting NRL games anytime soon.

Liam Martin has rejected Penrith's initial offer.
Can't see him leaving but would love to pry him loose.

Lock/second row
I think the clubs already shown you just sign the best players available and then fit them in.
I'd take Martin over Matterson who we are apparently already talking to.
I'm not sure that's what we've done, we've bought players that were desperately needed.

I like Martin but we're 100% fine at lock and the second row. Like Matterson he's another player that will get much more elsewhere than what I believe he's worth to us.

Never said we needed him just that I want him.

One of my favourite Non Sharks Players. Love his backstory, an example of Squeezing everything from the Lemon. Would love that scrunched up face and those pale pastey limbs thrashing around for us in the oppositions face, plus catching bombs and scoring!

No but you said the club buys the best players available and then fits them in.

I don't think we do that.
Aaarguably we did that with Finucane as we already had Cam but Finucane had played plenty of prop or as a prop-like 13 so not that much of a stretch by us to fit him in.

Just so happened three of the best players available fit our areas of need (7, 8, 13) and our other big one (centre) we have been able to fix in house.

Yeah I thought about that but like you said, was never going to be a stretch for him to play prop.

Apart from that we desperately needed leadership.

I think Dale was as much about what he brings to the club as he is about being great in his position. I'd find a way to fit The Cheese in, as Melbourne has, just to have that sort of guy influencing the rest of the lads.

i seriously believe our squad is one of the most balanced in the comp. unless there is a departure in a starting spot i dont see much reason to pursue any big name.

lets not forget fitz is building a team and not throwing money around to win a comp tomoro. we can pretend we know where we stand with our cap, but lets face it, we dont.

CT and Talakai were cheap as chips.

Dale and McInnes were bought for a reason, not to fit them in.

Both bought cheap but playing to a standard where they've forced themselves into having to be in the 13.

Both bought for a reason which has them playing out of their natural positions in our best 13.

🤷‍♂️

He wants to build a legacy and I am perfectly fine with that.
