That side will surprise a few this year imo. Next year they need to focus on singing an express centre and winger but. Backs are very thin.

I agree, they’ve addressed some of their biggest weaknesses which were in the spine. If they can keep him fit Verrills might be one of their most important signings in years. You don’t succeed in the NRL without a competent 9.

They signed Randall too from the knights who is decent depth for them. Verrils thought is in for a huge year. Bloke can play.

Is Khan-Periera quick? Or a bigger winger?
Think young Addo-Carr before he went to Melbourne.

He will probably score some tries but there will be games where he does nothing and makes 40 metres.

And let’s a few through??
That was JAC’s issue early on for memory

But has definitely worked on that over the years

Goes VERY well at Q cup level in attack
This is a terrible year to be a Burleigh fan.

Have lost their 1, 6, 7 and likely AKP.

There were not many of those last year.

Didn't do much in the prelim. Burleigh didn't have much footy that game though, and Redcliffe were sending every kick in to the right corner because Burleigh love an early shift to the left. They also don't do anywhere near as much running from dummy half as some teams.

And let’s a few through??

Like every 20yo winger ever? I don't think he is especially bad in defence. Stepping up to the NRL has a way of finding players out though. I'm sure he'll have his fair share of bad reads early on.

Has Brimson got through a season yet? Foran on borrowed time. Boyd can't carry them. Any idea how to use Fifita yet other than a place to flush money away? Also, they're a GC franchise.

Need a lot to go their way.

This is key. The joint has been a rabble for over 30 years.

Player graveyard.

wasn’t having a dig at the kid, just pointing out that he will probably leak a few as did JAC early on but as long as he works hard could do the same as JAC and be very damaging and also reliable

I know. I just reckon it's accepted by NRL teams though that wingers take a couple of years to learn how to defend. Val was a traffic cone early on too. Possibly worse than JAC.

Not many players go there and improve, like the Warriors.

Will be interesting to see.
Yeah AKP at like Melbourne or the Rabbitohs would be a really nice fit. At Titans, let's just say I won't be putting him in my fantasy side.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet, and looks like Miller thread is closed so posted it here. Obviously we knew he was going but looks like Bradbury to us is confirmed

“Newcastle will have just four weeks to form a winning spine combination with fullback Lachlan Miller finally arriving from Cronulla.
Miller, the former Rugby Sevens flyer, farewelled his Sharks teammates on Monday after securing a release from the final year of his contract in the Shire.

Miller has been signed by the Knights to play fullback, a pivotal figure in an untried attacking quartet that includes halfback Jackson Hastings, five-eighth Kalyn Ponga and hooker Jayden Brailey.

The 28-year-old, who in his debut season featured in seven NRL games for the Sharks in 2022, has arrived in Newcastle and will commence training immediately, cognisant that the key spine players have little time to gel.

Cronulla were loath to let Miller go, but with fellow fullbacks Will Kennedy and Kade Dykes on their books, the Sharks weren’t willing to block Miller’s opportunity to play regular NRL at fullback with the Knights.

As part of the release of MIller, the Sharks have secured promising NSW under-19’s prop Max Bradbury.

Bradbury, who former NSW Origin prop and former Knights pathways manager Mark O’Meley has a huge opinion of, will move to Cronulla by the end of this week.

Ironically, Miller’s first hit-out is likely to be against the Sharks.

Newcastle meet Cronulla in their first of two pre-season trials on February 10 on the Central Coast.

The Knights will commence their NRL season in round one – in 31-days – against the Warriors on March 3.”

Hoping he inherits the Ogre moniker.
