Rumour going around that the rabbits have asked if we’re willing to release Toby Frudolph for 2024.
i gotta be honest, i am surprised he re-signed given that he lives with his best mate who is at the bunnies, lives in bunnies territory, is always with them and has said a few times he thoguht he would debut with them

i'd have bet good money if they made a move for him instead of the dogs he would have gone

Feels like Toby's always had a foot halfway out the door

It does? The guy who’s always smiling? Busts his ass every game? Engages with the fans? The loudest in the locker room?
The bloke is just an open book.
An open book but also one who doesn't strike me as especially commital or liking to be tied down. Quite a 'free spirit' type.

Could definitely see him switching to play with some mates based on just that fact, not because the deal is better.
Throw in he's likely the type who would enjoy a change of scenery 'just because', rather than as he has grown stale where he is.
Rabbitohs is a big change but with the comfort of some friends and familiarity still.

I know some people like that, they just can't sit still and will make changes for no reason other than some apparent need to. Changes that are for the worse as often (if not more so) than they are for the better...

The guy who signed for Warriors?
At the end of his contract? This door you speak of must be a revolving door. Never had any impression he wasn’t fully committed to us. Can’t blame him for seeking out opportunities, but suggesting he’s half way out the door is a slap in the face to the effort he puts in for us.

I know you’re not replying to me but just to clarify my statement I don’t think he’s halfway out the door I just think he’s just as likely to go somewhere for a new experience as he is to stay where he is comfortable
Vs a lot to of other players who wouldn’t consider shifting unless the money is better

You're the only 1 talking about commitment and effort. Like bort said he's a free spirit kinda guy who'll go where the wind takes him. That's not a knock on him at all.

"a foot halfway out the door" doesn't mean 'keen to leave' or 'not buying in'. Unlike most who I'd be confident retaining them if our deal lined up with other offers, I could see Toby just going to try something else cause he wants to.

Decent depth signing but doubt he’ll get many minutes there. His best bet would have been to actually stay at the dogs and fight for the 7 jersey.
Think Gould let him go so it wasn't really up to Wakeham. Tigers released both Hastings and Jock Madden so if either Brooks or Doueihi goes down he's straight in. Doueihi's usually good for an injury or two.

If I'd just shut up long enough you'd have explained myself for me.

Dogs have now turned their attention to Spencer Lenin.

This is starting to get a bit ridiculous now! I don’t see how the **** they have any money in there cap to apparently try sign this bloke as well as Mitch Moses along with other plays.

Should be the just the right guy to bring them together. Just don't offer him the captaincy.

Any relation to Vladimir?

It is pretty outlandish what they seem to be affording, although they are building on a very low base and obviously comfortable ending up with 10 highly paid players and 20 on chips and a pie (by NRL standards of course, especially as new cap base wage is pretty good)

Most Panthers fans are pretty desperate to retain him now that Crichton is gone.
While he is a very good low minute impact forward he got dropped for fitness concerns as recently as last season. Take him out of their program where he already has fitness concerns and stick him somewhere else with a fat contract will he progress or will he slide?
I don't think I'd want us to spend the money needed to take that gamble, although is good to watch for short stints.

I was too slow by adding other **** haha

I’m a big fan of Toby but he isn’t irreplaceable with 12 months notice. He isn’t far from his peak and not like he has 10 years left in him either.
