asked a mad tiger about him and he said he is a solid player

looking at both packs and playrs in front, he probably has more chance at wests so not sure why the sea change
If they were to sign Bateman he is definitely better off here (assuming he's an edge player). But if that has died then yeah, it's a silly move for him, but a good one for us I guess.

Sure - NRL in 2023 the Sharks are strong at back row, but they currently have one guy signed for 2024, not one of their dev players is a back rower, and in 2022 the Cup back-rowers were Jets contracted guys. I could see how a 20 year-old back rower with 6 games of Cup experience might see an opportunity to get a full season of Cup under him in 2023 and impress the NRL coach going in to 2024.

After the 4 guys in the top 30 for 2023, the current options at back row are Hardy (19yo), Pickering (21yo - missed most of 2022 injured) and Parker (21yo - missed most of 2022 injured)

If they were to sign Bateman he is definitely better off here (assuming he's an edge player). But if that has died then yeah, it's a silly move for him, but a good one for us I guess.
Yeah - In the games I have seen O'Kane has been a right side 2nd rower.

And from memory one of the jets guys has left ahead of 2023 season
Rennie - yeah. France.

Tasipale and Rennie were the starters much of the year. Kalache played plenty of 2nd row also.

Tasipale has been shown in Sharks training photos so I assume he is coming back. Not sure about Kalache.

If O'Kane is on a $1,000/week NRL T&T and has the inside track to be an 80-minute edge player for the Jets, that's not a bad place to be as a 20 year-old.

EDIT: Wikipedia says Kalache has signed in ESL.

Yeah was actually Kalache I was thinking of, I think I did also know about Rennie but had forgotten him

just saw he signed a 3 year deal at wakefield - cant fault him for that
Yeah no way anyone in NRL was offering him three years, would have been battling to find one
Some great stability for him and a good opportunity to get some development at a higher level than he was getting here

Rumour is that Moses has signed with the tigers for 1.3mil - 1.4mil a year on a 4-5 year deal.

If Moses ever wonders what his career would have been like had he never left the Tigers, all he has to do is look at Luke Brooks.

Be crazy to go back IMO.

It’s not 100% at this stage but the bloke I spoke too is usually on the money when it comes to signings. He’s very confident they’ve got him.

But yeah 1.4 mil is a lot.

Where does that leave Brooks now? Will he play 6? Or will he even be there come 2024 if this signing is true :?

Personally I think they’re better off with Moses/Douehi in the halves. Worked well for Lebanon, would be better than Moses/Brooks.

Brooks not signed for 24 so no way they extend/retain him if they’ve done this

So it leaves him elsewhere

If true, does it mean they got it wrong in having the inferior player stay? Also may explain a bit better the Hastings Exit, which the official version reasons sounded underwhelming.
